chapter 2

Autumns p.o.v:

"Good morning sweetheart" my mom greeted me right after I walked into the kitchen.

"Morning mom" I said taking out a mug to prepare my coffee.

"any plans today?" My mom said while flipping a pancake.

"not really, when is Justin leaving to New York?" I asked sitting down in the counter waiting for the water to boil.

"about that..I need to talk to both you and your brother about something" My mom said placing two pancakes in a plate and setting it aside.

"what? why?" I asked standing up when I realized my water was boiling.

"let's just wait for your brother honey" she said cutting fresh strawberries.

god, this doesn't sound pleasing.

"good morning, what's cookin good lookin" my brother said kissing my moms cheeks.

"morning hun, Pancakes with strawberries and chocolate syrup" she said smiling.

"Mhm my favorite" my brother moaned looking at me.

"I'm making coffee do you want some?" I asked.

"of course little sis" he said taking a seat in front of the counter.

I just smiled, poured some coffee for the both of us and poured some water for mom.

I took a seat in front of my brother and we both started drinking our coffee.

Two minutes later, my mom placed three plates in front of us, each with two pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and chocolate syrup.

I dislike both pancakes and strawberries, they just taste disgusting to me. so I just sat there drinking my coffee while my brother and mom started eating.

"so, Justin you leave for New York in three days huh?" She asked taking a sip of her water.

"yeah, the guys and I are excited, Austin is joining us too" he said.

"that sounds great hun, can I ask you for a favor?" She asked.

"Yeah, what's up?" He said looking at her.

"you see, my boss offered me a great summer opportunity..both me and him are going to South Africa for a program he's starting to help people that are starving, and since you are going to New York I thought maybe you could take your sister with you?" she said looking at me.

"what?" Both me and Justin said at the same time. i almost choked on my black coffee.

this can't be happening, I was waiting so long for an opportunity like this, no boys around the house for two months!

"mom I'm going with the boys, I can't just bring her with us" he said giving me "the look" to say something.

"mom they are all guys, I'm 16 I'll be perfectly fine here, I can take care of my self" I said smiling.

"honey, Austin your friend is going! I remember you bringing him home after school and doing some homework together, he seems like a sweet guy" She said.

Austin is not my friend, never was and never will be.

I lost my appetite and I feel sick. Honestly, all three guys I strongly dislike on a trip with my brother to New York?

that's like a suicide trip.

"mom no" I simply said.

"listen to me, its a favor..do it for me, and I'll repay you later, I owe you one" she said looking at me with really sad eyes.

"okay" I said, looking at Justin..he seems unhappy.

"mom are you serious? I'm not going there to baby sit her, I'm going there to have fun with the boys" He said standing up.

"I know, she'll mind her own business, it's a great opportunity for you guys to get along too" she said smiling.

oh mom, if you only knew..

"Fine" he said looking at me and then turning around and storming off to his room.

just when I thought things couldn't get any worse.
