School has finally ended. What a long day... And to think this is only the second day in this new school. Well, at least it isn't as crappy as I thought it was going to be.

Classes were fine today and everyone was great except Brittany and her gang. As an added bonus, I didn't bump into Nicholas or his gang today.

"Hey, Sugar."

Oh no, I spoke too soon. There he is, the "great" Nicholas standing before me. I really can't stand him. and now because of him, I have to ask someone to send me home or just walk back because he sent me to school this morning.

"Go away, douchebag." I said. I'm in no mood to talk to him.

"Don't you want a ride home?" he said with a sickeningly sweet smile.

"Well I do want a ride home but not from you, duh."

"Too bad because I'm sending you home." he said with a smirk.

"No you're not. I already asked Charlotte to send me back." This will just have to be added onto my list of white lies for the safety of humankind.

"Well then why is she walking out the front door?"

"Charlotte!! Charlotte!!" I wave my arms at her desperately. Somehow my short height paired with equally short arms manages to catch her attention. She was about to walk over and at the sight of Nicholas she blew me a kiss and walked off.

"Looks like you're stuck with me Sugar."

"Ugh...let's just go." I walk out the front door, not waiting for him to follow.

As I got nearer to his car, I heard that "cute" doll voice calling out "Nicholas!! Why is she following you?? You were suppose to send me home!"

"Umm..."Nicholas said while awkwardly scratching the back of his neck and sending me help signals with his eyes.

Brittany just open the door of his car and sat in the passenger seat. She even honked to make Nicholas hurry without even giving me a glance.

"Come with me Olivia." his eyes were pleading and it looked kinda sad.

"Fine." I got into the backseat. This is going to be a long ride. Hopefully, Nicholas doesn't stop the car at the side of the road to--ahem--do whatever with Brittany. I mean, of course he knows her house, why wouldn't he? They've probably known each other for years. I'm just some intruder that the main guy character needs to send home before they ride off to their happily ever after.

"Where do you live?" Nicholas asked Brittany, jaw clenching tightly.

"84 Jackson Street." Brittany being too busy to even look up from her phone to answer.

So he doesn't know where she lives. Whatever.

"Aren't you going to ask Miss I'm-a-ball-of-sunshine back there where she lives?" Brittany questioned with a bored tone.

"I already know where she lives..."

"What?! I thought you sending her to school this morning was fake news. You mean to tell me that it's real?!" Why is Brittany even freaking out about something like that? I mean, no big deal. I don't even want him to know where I live. He just so happens---unlucky for me---to stay next door to me.

"She lives next door to me. You know, the house that has been empty for a while now?"

I could see Brittany fuming silently next to Nicholas. No doubt a nasty plan was already forming in her head. Looks like I'll be watching my back these few days.

We arrived at Brittany's house. She decided it would be fun to stick her head in the backseat and into my face.

"Watch out sucker because something not so nice is gonna happen if you keep hanging out with pretty boy here." a pathetic monster look was on her face, or at least that was what it looked like from my viewpoint. Her eyes were wide open with a teeth showing and it looked like there was some broccoli stuck in her teeth.

"Hate to tell you, chica but I think you have some broccoli between your teeth." I said with a smirk.

"How dare you!! You better watch your back or else..." Brittany's face was turning redder every second. She stomped to her front door.

"Bye Nicky-boo!" she called out. The nerve of that girl.

"Let's go." I tell Nicholas who looked like he was about to burst. He was gripping the steering wheel like his life depended on it.

We drove back home in silence. The only sound was the music from the radio that was playing silently. Soon, we arrived at my front doorstep.

"Thanks for the ride." Nicholas was silent for a while. was he not going to reply? Well, then...

"Tell me if she does anything to you ok?"

"Whatever. I can stand up for myself. I'm a big girl." He smiled softly at me.

"See you later, Sugar."

"See ya." I turn back to my house. What a day.
