Friday couldn't have come any faster if someone paid it to. She and Olive had talked about Friday on Tuesday and before she knew it, Friday had already arrived, glaring her in the face. She had completely forgotten about the party till early that morning. It had practically woken her up and she had stressed so much because it was going to be her first doing it without Liv at her side.

Then she had forgotten about an assignment she needed to submit, after stressing so much about it the previous night. For that, she was going to blame on her own lack of organizational skill, she thought as she shook her head at herself.

As though it wasn't enough, she only realized after she had ordered her meal that she had left her purse in Olive's room from when she had gone there to teach her the previous night.

Luckily a good Samaritan had offered to pay for her after an idiot had cussed her out for taking too long at the counter.

And that had happened because the girl at the counter gave her a hard time after she explained her predicament. She had asked the girl to let her pay the next day since she was a regular or just simply cancel the order.

The idiot had cussed her out for delaying him and the nice Samaritan had gone to her aid. He really was her knight in shining armor or maybe the universe had finally realized she had had enough.

Out of courtesy, she had shared the table with the stranger. Normally she would have been apprehensive about the situation but she was madly hungry and a bit humiliated. If he had seen her red-faced as the idiot cussed her out, then he really wouldn't mind seeing her stuff her face with food. Even if he did, she didn't care especially not when she was that hungry.

"Thanks for paying." Kayla said and the stranger smiled at her. "I can pay you back but not right now. I'll have to meet you later to do that." she sailed awkwardly. She could hear Olive's mocking voice in her head laughing at her embarrassment.

"Mmhmmm...."

"it doesn't have to be today if you're busy later. Or not, if you don't want your money back" she continued awkwardly.

Kayla was starting to get annoyed by how the conversation was going, if it could be called that. Why won't this dude talk? She had assumed he would be eager to converse with her. Apparently not. Even she was friendlier than this stranger sitting opposite her.

The stranger could tell she was getting upset when she frowned slightly.

"I'm Dennis and sure I'll go out on a date with you. Just lemme know when and where and also your contact.

Laughing slightly Kayla replied back teasingly "you're eager to get your money back, wow. And here I was thinking you were a God sent. The good Samaritan". She was suddenly feeling comfortable and she knew it was because of Dennis' change in attitude. She had been worried he was going to turn out to be egotistical but he seemed really nice.

"There's the insult again " he facepalmed. He laughed as he saw his action had made his companion laugh.

"what's the name?"

"Makayla or Kayla, any will do"

"Okay Makayla. Your name's as beautiful as you are. I want to know more about you, I hope that's okay?" he asked her.

She found out Dennis, was in the same year as her at the same university but they were offering different courses.

After the meal, they had exchanged contacts with a promise to get in touch and Dennis had walked her halfway to her apartment. Since she wasn't okay with him knowing her apartment yet, she stopped him from getting close to the apartment.

Walking to her apartment by herself she caught herself thinking about how Liv would have fought for her if she had been around when the idiot attacked her. She laughed thinking to herself about all the names Liv would have called him but then again if Liv was around, the whole situation wouldn't have happened and she wouldn't have met Dennis who seemed like a perfect gentleman. How many guys would actually do that for a girl they didn't know and even walk them home when their apartment was directly opposite the direction theirs was?

Dennis was perfect in her books. Before, she had been anxious about going for the party after how bad her day was going but after meeting Dennis, she was starting to feel good about going. Since they were in the same year maybe she would meet him again?

Walking into the apartment, it seemed someone up there had finally heard her prayers because the door was open when she tried it. "Thank God" she thought as she walked in. Not just because the door was opened but because that meant Liv was in and she was finally going to get her revenge on the idiot that disgraced her at the restaurant. She smiled.

Unfortunately for Kayla, Olive had company with her. They had been giggling about something when Kayla walked in and they had only spent a moment to acknowledge her presence then Olive had introduced her company as Tiffany. Finding them both annoying when they proceeded to ignore her afterwards, Kayla had spent the rest of her day in her room watching Naruto which Olive had just got her hooked, on her laptop.

She had called her mother and had gotten away with only an earful because she was busy with work. She got off with a warning to call home at least once in a week.

At almost 6pm, Olive had entered her room to inform Kayla she was leaving earlier with Tiffany and she would search Kayla out at the party. They left then, leaving Kayla alone.

Afterwards Kayla had decided then she wasn't going. Naruto suddenly seemed too interesting to walk away from and a better option than hanging out at a place she was likely going to regret. New Makayla was on leave and old Makayla had come out of retirement. It was going to be like old times. She took her bathe and finally settled down to watch Naruto on their tv as she ate the popcorn she made.

Around 8pm, after many episodes, Kayla was really glad of her decision to stay in. She had left her phone charging in her room accidentally but also didn't go for it because she was that lazy. She knew she probably had a couple of calls or at least she hoped she did but she wasnt bothered. Until she heard a loud knock on her door.

Initially when she heard the knock on the door, she had ignored it because she wasn't in a mood to see anyone neither was she expecting anyone at that hour. It couldn't be Olive she knew because Olive always had her key with her. She was a lot more responsible than Kayla would ever be. Who ever was at the door would leave after some few minutes unless they stayed longer then she would know it was an important.

Some minutes had passed and the persistent knocking wasn't going anywhere as such, Kayla couldn't ignore the person anymore. Taking the bowl she had eaten the popcorn in to the kitchen, she tied her hair in a bun and went to see who was at the door.

Opening it, she was shocked at who had found her.
