He kissed me she thought dazedly. He kissed me on the mouth, a full blown French kiss. Is it sexual abuse if the kiss was unsolicited yet very much enjoyed? Oh my God, I just had my first kiss.
She covered her lips with her fingers as that particular thought crossed her. She gingerly touched her lips with each finger feeling the swollen lips she knew she now had.
"I'm very sorry for what I just did. I didn't actually mean to, it was just......reflex. I'm truly sorry, Kayla" Dennis apologized profusely, looking very apologetic.
"No no. It's okay.. It's fine. It wasn't bad. I kinda liked it. It's really not that big a deal."
"You liked it huh?" he asked with a smirk, waggling his eyebrows at Kayla.
"You didn't actually mean the apology, Dennis?"
Dennis was confused by the time Kayla finished speaking so dejectedly. Hadn't she just said it was okay?
"Kayla listen to me" he said lifting her chin slightly, "I love you Makayla Denvers, I really do. I lost myself for a second there, and I kissed you without your consent and I'm very, very sorry I did that to you, Kayla. I'm ashamed of myself for doing that and I meant every thing I said when I apologized. I said what I said afterwards just to tease you, not because of any other thing."
How could she doubt his intentions towards her? Did she not realize how much her presence affected his sanity? Could she not tell how fast his heart beat when they kissed? Damn Kayla!
"Okay. I get it now." she said smiling.
"Hah! Kayla, you have no idea what you do to me when you look like that." Dennis said falling back down on the blanket with his hands folded behind his head as he looked up.
Kayla laid by him mimicking his posture. They both laid silently, each listening to their own thoughts.
They could hear the chirping likely from insects, the couple next to them were laughing about something, the noise coming from the restaurant had gone down and the band was now playing soft music. That was the kind of atmosphere, Kayla strived in. She could lay there for hours on end.
She prided herself on being a nature lover that also really understood it. She had always felt connected to it on a whole different level. As she laid under the enormous sky, she thought about how beautiful and scary nature was.
Nature was freeing yet constraining. It made life and took it away. That was why she had lived her life as carefully as she could, living right in the middle of two extremities but what she realized now was that perhaps, she had misinterpreted it.
Living life without feeling constrained or freed wasn't living, it was existing. She was actually supposed to live, feeling the pain and the joy, the anger and the relief. She had to feel the beauty and the ugly. That was how life felt worthy, that's how it made sense. Golden linings she thought laughing to herself. Closing her eyes, she opened all of her heart.
"What are you thinking of?" Dennis asked Kayla after a while. "Kayla, Makayla" he called out after minutes of silence passed.
Lifting himself up with his elbow, he found himself staring into Kayla's sleeping face.
Her closed eyes seemed smaller. They really looked like that of a cat's. Her face was so serene with a little smile playing on her lips, it made him wonder what dream she was having.
Dennis wanted to touch her lips, those lips he yearned to taste again. Letting his head drop, his lips were now mere inches away from hers. He stared at her, wondering how he got so lucky.
It only took a little dip for his lips to meet hers and he started leaving a trail of kisses from all over her face to her neck. Continuing on his path of destruction, he stared at the soft round mould that was her breast. He flicked the tip of his tongue on her nipple and watched with wicked delight as it hardened both from his assault and the coldness. Taking what would fit in his mouth, he sucked her breast gently as she moaned. Her body was very soft, it was like none that he had touched. He heard her moan again and looked up into her expectant eyes. The little encouraging smile she gave him was the only thing he needed.
