Third person view
"Give it up already lady!" a large man yelled finally pulling the purse away from the old women. It was the middle of the night, so he wasn't really worried about someone hearing her.
He turned to run only to bump into something leathery and hot. With a groan he started to look up, seeing that he had bumped into someone's chest.
"Oh we got... a... hero?" He said finally seeing his face. It was a skull, an on fire, angry looking skull. His hands were also on fire, or at least the bone that was exposed with him having fingerless leather gloves. he also had a chain wrapped around his chest, going over his one shoulder.
His jacket and gloves also looked like they were particularly melted, but they weren't runny.
"Oh my god. A ghost rider" he said backing up against the wall, trying to flatten himself against it. The ghost rider shook his head slowly before quickly snatching the purse from the guy. Surprisingly it didn't catch on fire.
He then gently helped the old lady back up to her feet and gave her purse and walking cane back.
"Oh, thank you young man" she said having poor sight. She started walking away, but not before using her purse to hit the man in the nuts.
The rider laughed before picking the mugger up by his shirt.
"Earlier you call me the ghost rider, But I'm not, my father was a true ghost rider. But I never dealt with the devil. You can call me the ghost boy" he said in perfect English. He then took the chain off his chest.
"G-Ghost boy?" the mugger laughed out slightly. He knew what ghost riders can do, so better to get one last laugh in.
"Shut up, I'm still working on the name" he said before throwing the chain back and wrapping the end of it around his forearm.
The next morning
"Hey did you guys see the news this morning?" Barbara asked running up to her group of friends/ crime fighting partners as the group walked to their school.
"The video of that baby goat and the puppy playing soccer?" Diana asked excitedly.
"No, well yes, they're so cute. But no, this" she said holding her tablet out as they walked.
"Another hero has surfaced in Metropolis as this is the fourth crime in the last month to be foiled by a ghost rider" the man on the news said showing a snapshot of a beaten up man tied up with a length of black chain.
"Eye witnesses from the previous crimes had all had the same story as last night's victim. A tall, medium build man, any exposed skin on fire with only bones showing"
"Barbara, I am not familiar with this rider of ghosts. What is it?" Diana asked. Barbara smiled widely before typing away on her tablet.
"The ghost rider is suppose to be a servant of the devil. But there have been ones that have been able to turn against him, at least according to legends. Normally most of them are down on their luck people who trade their souls for something" Barbara explained looking on her tablet.
