Chapter 9

-Charlie looks at the camera-

"Yes my ex-boyfriend goes to my school now. Yes he's my new neighbor. It doesn't matter, we broke off on good terms. No feelings are still there. Right?"

Charlie's POV

I was helping Big Red set up the camera. When Nini came out in the Gabriella outfit.

"You're killing it Nini!" I yelled out to her. She smiled.

"Thank you." She yelled back.

"Okay people lets do this!" Ricky yelled.

-Ricky looks at the camera-

"You're probably wondering why I'm acting so normal. You're probably wondering why I'm not like, hey! What's up with Charlie's new neighbor and why was there a picture of him on her wall? Because when I wasn't ready to tell her about my parents she waited until I was ready. Now I'm gonna wait until she's ready to tell me about this Chase guy."

"I hope she ready soon."

-Back on stage-

(Still Charlie's POV)

I looked at Ricky who had a ridiculous wig on. I started laughed.

"Oh my god, Ricky!" Nini said.

"What?" He asked causally.

"I can't you look so dumb!" I said laughing and wiping the tears coming out on my eyes.

"Hey be nice, I'm sure you wouldn't say that if I were Zac Efron right now would you?" He said amused.

"You're right I'm sorry," I said holding in my laughter as I walked over to him trying to fix the hair a little.

"Hey don't mess it up!" Ricky said grabbing my hands and pulling them away from his head.

"I'm trying to make it better!" I said laughing. I saw Nini look at us in a weird way. I moved away from Ricky.

-Charlie looks at camera-

"Did I tell Nini I like Ricky no. Should I, yes. Am I afraid too? Absolutely. I don't want to lose Nini as my friend."

-back on set-
"Okay, guys I would like to introduce someone who's gonna be a background dancer and the understudy for Chad for the play!" Carlos said.

"Everyone meet Chase!" Carlos said as Chase came out on stage. I sighed you've got to be kidding me.

Chase walked over to me.

"Hi." He said smiling.

"Hey back." I said looking away. He noticed it.

"Charlie?" He asked me. I hummed in response. "We're on good terms right?" He asked.

"Of course!" I exclaimed.

"Okay good I didn't want you to like hate me." He chuckled.

"Charlie I need help again!" Big Red exclaim.
I looked at Chase.

"I got to go." I said walking away.

"What's up Big Red?" I asked. He looked at Ricky quickly and then back at me.

"Um nothing I think I fixed it." He said smiling.

-Ricky looks at the camera-

"Was I happy with Chase being a member of the play. No. Was I happy with Chase talking to Charlie. Not at all. Did I make my best friend Big Red intervene. Yes."
