I know exactly what Luca wants from me. He's made it clear since my first day here that I make a great tool for his social media career.
"You know Luca, you're very inspiring," I state thoughfully.
He scratches his cheek instinctively and answeres hesitantly, probably trying to decipher if it's a trap.
"Thank you," He says without wavering.
"I wish I could give as little fucks as you."
He takes a seat on my newly arrived sofa and looks ahead pensively. Luca's smart. Very smart. So I know hes thinking steps ahead on how could he manipulate this conversation to go in his favour. And I'd let him because it's Luca. All those years lost hasn't suppressed my soft spot for him.
"You have a whole lot of nerve to be here right now after yesterday."
Once Julian dropped me home, it was only a matter of hours before Rubi arrived at the apartment. Julian was a good distraction. I found myself forgetting about the situation often, lost in conversation about anything and everything with Julian. He left when Rubi arrived. As my sole confider after my mother I let out all the humiliation and pent up emotion that I couldn't show with some guys I had just met.
"Genie, I didn't think it through. I should've told you how the video blew up but I didn't want you to freak out or anything."
He looks up at me and It's the first fragment of sentiment I've seen on his face.
But what is he feeling?
It can't be sincere remorse. Luca wouldn't jeopardise his character like that. Even when we were little he was just as indifferent and would keep to himself, giving as little fucks as one could as a child.
Which is how I get the feeling that the whole youtube persona is an act. His constant laughter and joking manner doesn't follow him when the camera is shut off. It's just his job.
"Well I did freakout. The Luca I know would've known that was going to happen. He would've predicted it quietly into my ear and watch the whole thing unfold."
