The day started bright and sunny, contrasting with Arthit's mood as he greeted the day. He found himself alone in bed when he woke so he trudged downstairs for company despite not being in the mood to talk. His mother only glanced at him when he entered the dining room. Ignoring everyone he sat down and reached for his breakfast.

His parents exchanged looks and finally, his mother asked, 'Arthit, did you sleep well son?'

He grunted and continued eating.

'We need to discuss the details of the mating,' Arthit only grunted some more.

'Excuse us,' Luna Pensri dismissed everybody in the room.

In a kind voice, she said, 'I know this is not what you wanted and neither do we but it is going to happen. I do not expect you to be happy about this but I know I raised you right. You will conduct yourself as the son of the Alpha, understood?

Arthit only looked at them, nodded and finished his meal but before he could leave the room his mother held him and said, 'Go to your room. I will call you when its time. We need to leave by 3 'o clock'. She kissed him on his palm and let him go.

When he entered his room, he stopped short when he saw the maid hanging his mating suit on the dresser hanger. Angered he walked out, wanting to shift and run through the woods forgetting everything. When he reached the entrance, one of his father's enforcers stopped him, 'Sorry Arthit, your father told us not to let you go anywhere today.'

'I'm just going for a run.'

'I'm sorry, I have my orders.'

Knowing it was futile to argue he walked into his father's study and slouched on the visitor's couch opposite Chonthicha's desk. She looked at him and continued working on her system. He tried to subtly start a conversation by sighing loudly and groaning but when he didn't receive the attention he wanted he walked out in a huff.

'The pup is restless,' she said into the intercom.

Arthit was lost, he didn't know what to do. He had things to prepare for his college but he couldn't concentrate. He tried reading his comics but they wouldn't hold his interest for long. He felt caged in his room so he wandered around listlessly and finally ended up with his mom.

She was in the library reading. He was angry at his parents, but he felt like a hundred ants crawling under his skin and his wolf was gnawing to be let out. As an omega, the urge wasn't usually this strong but due to recent events he felt very uneasy. With a sigh, he sat at his mom's feet and rested his head against her. His mother immediately started patting his head, calming him immediately. Before he realised he had fallen asleep.

He heard voices drifting into his consciousness long before he could open his eyes.

'He is going to hate us,' Khaemkhaeng said.

'Don't all kids hate their parent at some point in their life.'

'Not ours.'

He could feel his mother jostle him with laughter, 'He will understand us, don't worry.'

'Goddess, I hope so', he felt his father's callused fingers caressing his face.

'We have three years, you think we can figure something out by then'. he asked hopefully.

'Khaemkhaeng,' his mother admonished.

'What?'

'Don't tell me you haven't thought about it, isn't that why you are here.'

She sighed, her husband knew her too well, 'Yes, but I do not want to give him hope, we already made a mistake with Knott, I do not wish to do more.'
