She breathed heavily into the bunch of roses she was using to hide her ember red face. She gripped the darkening green stalks of the beautiful deathly flowers and looked into his eyes for what she feared would be the last time.
"Amelia please. You don't have to do this, I can't stand the thought of losing you. You're my one and only, my star, my beautiful angel-"
"I'm not yours!" She screamed angrily. She felt everyone's eyes piercing deep into her. Could they see what she really was? No, they couldn't.
Control it.
"I am a normal girl, okay! There's nothing wrong with me!"
Control it.
She could feel the pull on her jacket, as if someone had grabbed it. She knew what it was but she tried to ignore it. To calm down.
Control.
She heard the whispers from all the students around her. They knew. Oh hell they knew.
CONTROL!
She heard him say something. She knew what he'd said but tried to believe he hadn't said it. He can't have just said that...
"No one said there was anything wrong with you. To be honest no one has to say it. Everyone knows it."
She realised that she had backed up onto the slanted wooden stage. She was in front of everyone now. All eyes were on her, and she couldn't hide it any more. She couldn't control it any more. She heard the rip in her jacket and the scream of a group of students as the black feathery mass emerged from her back.
"Her eyes!"
"What the hell is happening?"
"Her eyes! They're glowing!"
"She looks like the devil!"
The voices got louder but just turned to white noise. The two black wings spread double her body length either side of her, and she tried to cover her face. She didn't have control any more. Amelia was gone.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!!" the voice erupted from the pit of her chest, but it didn't sound like her any more. This voice was deeper, not manly, but not belonging to the sweet girl who once owned this body. The demon that was hiding inside of her had come out. She was the demon now.
There was no stopping her.
There was no stopping it.
The shell which was Amelia's body looked up with devil eyes, but behind them there was a fire burning.
A blue fire which came from what used to be her soul.
