"and.. i haven't seen him since. it's just hard, you know? knowing that you are probably the reason why your father left you and your mother high and dry.." briar explained, sadly to me.

i sat up slightly, placing my thumb under her chin. i gently turned her head so she was facing me, "briar anne i don't want to hear that ever again."

"what?" she looked confused as i laughed slightly.

"don't talk about yourself in such a negative way. did you tell your father to leave?"

"no.."

"did you tell your friends to stop talking to you?"

"no.. myles i don't see how this is supposed to be help-"

"shh," i laughed a little, cutting her off, "you're one amazing girl. the perfect daughter, the bestest friend.. anyone in this world would be so lucky to have you apart of their life. you are really a light that the world doesn't deserve briar.. and i won't sit here and let you talk so negatively about yourself. your father left because he's an asshole. your friends grew apart from you because they don't understand what a good friend is."

"myles how can you say all of those nice things about me..? i was awful to you," she frowned slightly as i shrugged.

"you forgave me, i forgave you. it doesn't matter what has happened in the past. you're my friend and you're in need of some cheering up, so let's go. get up."

"what?" she laughed a little while getting up.

i smiled and stood up, "briar anne. today is our day. let's just forget the world for a little while and be happy. let's do dumb kids things and just have the time of our lives."

"what's brought this on all of a sudden?"

i gently grabbed her hands, "you really need to escape from the world right now. i'm no aladdin.. and i don't have a magic flying carpet but, will you be my jasmine for the day and let me show you better parts of the world?"

she giggled and nodded, "you got cheesy really quick."

i laughed then led her off of the beach and over to my car.

if i'm being totally honest i don't know what has brought this on all of a sudden.. i guess i seen a friend in need and i wanted to help. and maybe she was helping me too, without realizing it. either way, we both needed this.

we spent the first little bit together just driving around and looking at all of the different places. canada was a beautiful place, i missed it so much.. i'm going to miss it so much more in a few days after i leave again to prepare for my wedding - although the more and more i think about it, the less i want to do it.

"so mrs anne," i smirked as she laughed.

"my last name isn't anne you weirdo."

"i'm aware but briar anne sounds cuter than briar nolet, you can't deny that."

"touché," she giggled.

"anyway, mrs anne, do you still dance?" i parked then looked at her.

she went quiet for a second and responded by shaking her head, "i injured my foot really badly not that long ago. dancing on it at the moment is nearly impossible.. the doctors don't even know if i can dance again."

my heart instantly dropped.. briar is dance. she's literally the best dancer i know and the fact that she might not even be able to dance again just breaks my heart.

"were you wanting me to dance for you? is that why we're here?" she gestured out to the studio that we were parked in front of.

"yes but i have a change of plans now. come on," we both got out of the car then i led her inside.

i had talked to the studio owner earlier in the day and i was able to book the studio for about an hour.. i was hoping to get her to dance for me but i have something up my sleeve.

we arrived in the studio, i could see her mood instantly changed. she was starting to act happier, but i think being in here just makes her upset.

"take off your shoes b, this is a dance class we don't dance in shoes."

she looked at me and laughed a little, "what are you doing mylo?"

"i'm helping you dance. now listen to your teacher," i laughed.

she took off her shoes, tied her hair up then made her way to the centre of the studio.

"now mrs anne, try a pirouette."

briar took a deep breath then prepped to do a pirouette. as she got up on releve and turned the slightest bit, she instantly stopped, "i can't do this."

i frowned slightly as an idea popped in my head, "need help?"

"what?" she looked at me.

i went over, placed my hands on her waist, "okay prep then you'll turn and you'll do amazing."

"myles i don't thi-"

"shh. do you trust me?"

"you're taking this aladdin thing too seriously," she laughed a little.

i smiled, "but do you?"

she paused for a moment, "of course i do," she then prepped to do a pirouette. before she started turning i picked her up and spun us both in a circle.

we both laughed as i set her back down, "amazing! someone give her an award for her incredible work."

i earned a smile from her for that one, "you're such a dork myles."

"a cute one though."

she rolled her eyes and laughed. i'll take that as a yes i'm cute?

anyway, after spending the rest of our day together i finally dropped her back off at her house. she smiled then gave me the biggest hug ever.

"thank you for today."

i smiled while hugging back, "anytime. call me whenever you need someone to forget the world with."

"of course," she got out of the car then hurried inside.

"wow.." i said to myself, looking down.

today has been one of the best days ever - after this i don't know where i stand with anything..
