A little background info about this story:
This takes place after Kalos. The teams that the Champions use are based on who they have in the game in which they first appeared with the exception of Lance who only had 5 Pokemon in his first game. Lance was given a 6th Pokemon to complete his team from a later game.
The Champions are based off of the anime series - not who is champion in the games
