I did some calculations for how long it'll take me to save enough money to build my dream house. And based on the highest salary average of a graphic designer (my dream career) in my area, it'll only take me 3 years to save up $150,000 which is half of what I want to save because ya never know if you'll need a bunch of furniture or need money for a house repair. Plus it's a ton cheaper on you than getting a loan. I'm surprised it's only going to take such a short period of time. And here's a tip: when saving up money for a house, always save $100,000 extra for sudden repair needs or new furniture. It'll help you in the long run.
