The fresh night air wafted to Marinette and messed with her bun as she opened the car door to dismiss herself.  Alya came last, closing the door with slammed on her tail.

"Damn it," she attempted to rip it out a few times before finally opening the car door, and snatching her tail back.

Marinette giggled, pulling out her mask (the one from the cover), the black and red feather's swaying from the movement, and she hesitated.  If she asked Adrien out, there was no going back.  She slipped it on, and smiled to Alya who was fishing for hers out of her purse.

"Ha, got it."  She stuck a thumbs up, indicating that she was ready to proceed.  They chatted and laughed as they walked into the building, and during night it made the lights glow bright.  It looked amazing, the disco ball swung slowly from its place high above the room, the christmas trees lined up across the walls of the room, and the students.  Oh the students, they danced and laughed, but you couldn't even tell who was who!

Suddenly a boy wearing a blackish green suit, with a light green shirt under, came to them

Suddenly a boy wearing a blackish green suit, with a light green shirt under, came to them.  He winked at Alya, saying, "And to whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?"

She giggled, "That's for me to know, and you to find out later."

Of course it was Nino, they all knew that.  Marinette smiled, greeting him nicely, though she had a major vibe that she was a third wheel.

"Where's Adrien?"  Alya asked, peeping her eyes around to see if she could notice him in the crowd, which would be impossible.

"The guy said he'd tag along later, his parents were making him do a photo shoot."  Nino sighed, disappointment was laced in his voice.  Then he perked up, complimented Marinette's dress, "You know, you sorta look like Ladybug."

"I know, right?  I thought the same thing, too."  Alya nudged her way out from between them, and blurted, "Let's go find something to eat.  I'm starved."  Alya grabbed Nino's hands, about to walk away, then she turned to Marinette, "Come on, girl, before all the best stuff is gone."

"I-I'll catch up with you later."  Marinette smiled, waving goodbye to them as they departed to where the snacks were being given away, and when they were completely out of sight her smile faltered.

"What's wrong, Marinette?"  She felt the presence of Tikki on her thigh, and heard her tiny voice squeal.

"I didn't want to bother them, no one likes a third wheel."  Marinette sighed, thinking of Adrien.  The fact that he wasn't there hurt, even if she was horrified of the thought of asking him out, she still would've wanted him there.

"That's not true, Marinette, you're not a third wheel."  Tikki objected, her voice harder to hear because it was muffled in the purse.

"I just don't want to spoil their fun, it's fine.  I can just.. dance."  Marinette became one with the crowd as she merged in with everyone.
