Alright, ladies, this chapter is for the week that we all dread. Here are some tips to help you make it through!

1. Use heat to relieve cramps
I'm sure that you've heard of this. Heat is a great way to help with period cramps. You can put rice inside of a sock and heat it up, wet a cloth with warm water,
or use a bottle of warm water. There are water "packs" that you can fill with hot water and that works well, too. I recommend that you wrap these items in a thin towel, or something like it, to avoid burning your skin. If your cramps seem to worsen or unable your ability to move and do daily things, it may be best to see your doctor as it may be a sign of something worse.

2. Keep spares
This is something that is very important to do. It is always best to keep an extra pair of underwear or two. There might be a point in time when your period starts suddenly and/or you stain your underwear in public. Keeping an extra pair will insure that if this unfortunate event does happen, you will be good to go!

3. Saving clothes from stains
I'm sure that there has been a time during your period where you had to say goodbye to a pair of underwear. Luckily, there is a way to save your underwear and jeans, too! Meat tenderizer. I know that might sound weird but trust me. The meat tenderizer powder is great for removing bloodstains. Sprinkle some of the powder onto the stain and then add enough water to make a paste. Let it soak in for about 20-30 minutes, rinse with cold water, and then put it in the washer. Also, if you don't have meat tenderizer, you can just wash with cold water as soon as possible.

4. Caffeine is a no
Caffeine can retain water which causes a bloated feeling and can worsen caffein. You don't need to cut it out completely, because we all need Starbucks sometimes, but do limit yourself.

5. Increase your iron intake
Taking in a little bit extra iron will help you to feel less fatigued and help with cramps. Kale and spinach are great sources of iron. Red meats are okay but they have tons of carbs which isn't so good for periods.

6. Wear loose pants
Wearing tight pants and jeans can squeeze your abdomen which is usually bloated in your period. Most likely, it won't feel very good to have a lot of pressure on your stomach. Wearing loose fitting clothes can help alleviate pain.

A/N- Those were only a few tips for that time of the month. I really hope that these tips help you!! Also, I'm out of school until January, so I'll try to upload chapters more often.
