Avoiding Love

Chapter 6 - The Kiss

What?!? He wants to go on a date... with me?? I ran out of my room and looked down the stairs. He was ringing the doorbell. He was in a blue plaid shirt and some jeans. His hair was disheveled as usual. I bit my lip as I "checked him out". He started smirking at me as he continued to ring the bell. He pointed at his phone then at my hand. I looked down and saw a message from him.

Kevin: You were soo checking me out.. and nice outfit ;)

I blushed and ran to my room and looked for an outfit to wear. After a few minutes I went to my mom's room and found the perfect dress. (Above if your on an IOS) It was a short pink floral dress. I also put on my usual teal converse. I put on some casual makeup. It wasn't as good as what Azya would've done but it was good enough.

I rushed down the stairs. I hurried to the door. Kevin was still ringing the door bell. I texted him while still in front of the door.

Me: Why are you so eager? ;)

I waited for a reply, my hand inches away from the door.

Kevin: Just open the door!!!

Me: what's the magic word?

Kevin: Abracadabra?

Me: nope 1 more chance.

Kevin: fine. Please.

Me: thank you.

I opened the door. He just stood there staring. His eyes were looking at my legs. I suddenly felt to revealed. "Are you going to come in or what?" I opened the door wider. "No I like the view right here." He smirked. I rolled my eyes. "If you don't come in the door will be closed and I'll be changing into my baggy clothes again." He ran straight inside. I closed the door.

He gave me the bouquet of flowers. "These are for you.." He looked into my eyes. I blushed. "Thank you." He smiled. "Shall we go?" He held out his hand. "Um let me go get my purse." I ran in the kitchen and got a vase. I poured water in the vase and put the flowers in the vase. I hurried over to Kevin.

I grabbed a hold of his hand. I blushed as I felt the sparks. He led me to his car and opened the door for me. I smiled and hopped in. He closed the door and hopped in on the driver's side. He started up the car. He drove out of my driveway. I stared out of the window.

For a few minutes there was peaceful silence. "So.. You're okay with this whole date thing?" Kevin started. "I didn't know I had a choice." I said playfully as I turned to look at him. I looked at his hands which were tightened on the steering wheel. "Of course you have a choice." He said through gritted teeth.

"Did I push a nerve there?" I asked nervously. "Yah.. er no I said no" Kevin said quickly. I giggled. "I'm sorry if I pushed a nerve.. I'm fine with the date." I looked down at my intertwined fingers. Kevin sighed. "I'm sorry.. And I'm glad that you're okay with the date." I could tell he was smirking. My intertwined fingers were separated and my left hand was being held by his. I blushed as the sparks went crazy. I intertwined fingers with him. I looked up at him. He looked so cute when he was focused.

Half an hour later we reached an Italian restaurant called Provino's. "Do you like it?" Kevin asked. He had a glint in his eye that made my knees go weak. "Y-Yes.. This is my favorite restaurant."

"I know.. Azya told me." Kevin said while rubbing the back of his neck. I smiled. "Should we go in?" I said as I pulled my hand away from his. He frowned for a second. "Uh.. yeah, sure." He turned off the car and got out of the car. Right as I had my hand on the handle, Kevin opened my door for me. "Thank you." I got out of the car while blushing. As we made our way into the restaurant, he tried to hold my hand but I moved it. He frowned again. I smirked at him. He suddenly pushed me against the wall. He pinned my hands above my head. I started breathing deeply. "Wh-What are you doing?" I asked.

He just stood there staring at me. I started biting my bottom lip. He intertwined fingers with me. "I'll hold your hand if I want to." I started laughing. "Oh really now." I got my hands out of his grip and wrapped my arms around his neck. "What are you doing to me.." He whispered. "The same thing you're doing to me. Let's go eat.." I led him inside

After a couple hours Kevin was dropping me off at my house. "Well I guess I'll see you at school." I pushed up my glasses. "Yah I guess so.." We started to have "a moment". I thought he would kiss me and that would've been the perfect moment. But he didn't he just smiled and walked off to his car. And that's when I felt my heart drop into my stomach. I started running after him. "Kevin! Wait!" He turned around. "Yeah?" I was right in front of him. "I think you forgot something."

"What did I forget?" He started smirking. I took a deep breath. "This." I wrapped my arms around his neck and slowly leant in. I closed my eyes. Our lips touched and it was like there were sparks everywhere. When the kiss ended I was breathless. "Thank you." I whispered. He got in his car. "No problem."
