Third's POV
The day after Jungki showed up, he decided to stay in the village and make an agreement with the head of the village to not cause any ruckus while he's here. His presence brings thick silence air in the house that it feels suffocated to breathe.
"Jesus, loosen up pals. It's not like I'm going to kill and eat you all or something." Jungki scoffs. Eyes staring at everyone in the living room before it lands on Hyejin.
His smiles falter at her fear expression across her face upon seeing him. It hurts him so bad to be honest. To see her seeing him as none other than an enemy.
No one knows the reason why he acts all evil over a devil himself. No one knows the reason why he let his younger brother took the throne when they were young. No one knows why he learnt black magic and turned his back against everyone in the Golden village that once become his favourite place. No one knows his real, genuine, pure intention to all of that was actually more than just love and adoration for Jung Hyejin.
No one.
If only anyone ask why he did what he did back there, he would have answer it truthfully but no one... No one ask him why he did all that.
"No one is your pal here, asshole." Yoongi spats, bringing back Jungki's sense out of his delirium.
Well, that's harsh, Yoong. He thought to himself. Calling him an asshole after years of being a loyal childhood friend?
"I guess you never change do you, Yoongi?" A provoking scoff escapes Jungki's lips before he trails off a mock, "Your height remains the same since the last time I left this village too."
Hearing the one whom he used to serve back during childhood mock him that way makes Yoongi grits his teeth in anger, "Shut up."
"Settle down, everyone. It's already night. We don't want the villagers to wake up to our fights." Jungkook reminds sternly as he turns to Hyejin and asks her to sleep first since he needs to talk to Jungki personally.
But seeing her hesitating to leave her husband alone with the enemy, Jungkook saunters to her direction, a small and assuring smile decorating his lips as soon as he stops in front of her.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Jungkook raises his brows, eyes penetrating deeply into her shimmering ones. Enchanting as ever.
"I don't think leaving you with him alone would be a good idea. I have a bad inkling on this one." She let out a whisper with a strain in her voice, proving how worry she is.
Her eyes even speaks back to Jungkook's in silence so that he could hold his idea on having a man to man talk with his twin; enemy.
"Baby, I'm gonna be fine. Jungki is not what you think he is. He wouldn't kill anyone here. He made a temporary amendment that if he tried to kill anyone in this village, he'd be executed right at that moment." He voices out which sounds all convincing everytime his eyes stares back into Hyejin's but she quickly averts her eyes to the wall beside him, a deep sigh rolls out of her mouth. Still feeling suspicious over Jungki.
"Now, you had a rough day today, babe. So I need you to get some rest and I'll join you later. Hm?" Jungkook moves his face closer, trying to catch her eyes that has been avoiding his until she surrenders and stares back into his eyes.
"Alright." She whispers a flatline tone.
Catching his wife's deep sigh, Jungkook pulls her head by one hand and kiss her temple sweetly.
He could feel how terrifying his wife currently feels right now after all of the bloody little war the twin brothers had earlier. But they know it was eminent. It was bound to happen, if not now, later.
