I've made it back to my apartment unscathed, but I ran into a few more close calls than I would've liked.
Over the last week my apartment has turned into a laboratory, with papers and vials everywhere. It's a mess, but there is an order in this chaos. I have tried to make the apartment look abandoned so that when I'm gone if my apartment is searched I won't come back with a troupe of soldiers waiting for me.
I'm looking for a pattern, something in common with all the victims, so I might be able to pinpoint the next victim. For this last week though I haven't had enough to work with to notice any pattern. Then I remembered the gun and retrieved it from my satchel. It had no blood on it, nor any ammunition, so I speculated that it was the killers weapon and that the victim was shot multiple times. Although I questioned why I didn't find a weapon at any of the other crime scenes, so it may have been the victims gun, but then why was the magazine empty. I pushed the gun off to the side, deciding not to spend any more time pondering on it.
Then I pulled out my map of the city to mark where the murder took place today and just stared at the map and thought about it trying to see a pattern in it. After several minutes I gave up and said through my teeth, "Maybe tomorrow." And placed everything back into its rightful place.
Although it was only around 4:30, I headed off to bed today had been tiresome and there was nothing more to do.
