Amaya walked around the gaping coreidors of the Castle wondering about her life. She had been on the most awkward of positions for the last 5 months with her partner and her own family. Janai had offered her a place beside her as the new Queens of the Sun-Fire Elves but... it wasnt meant to be. Amaya couldnt be a Queen, that was her sister's job. She was just a soldier and will remain a soldier for as long as she lives. And apart from that, lead a handful of Sun-Fire Elves that probably hate her and the idea of a Human being their own Queen. The accords didnt forbid it but it just didnt make sense.
Her footsteps ecoed in the long empty hallways as she delved in her thoughts. Besides, she had a duty with Ezran and Callum. To protect them at her sister's last request. She looked up after a bit and noticed a stir with the guards around the corner. Her inner demons had to subside for now and she'll have to deal with them later.
The Crow Lord had recieved word that a village on the outskirts of Katolis, and near the Border, had been attacked. Something had slaughtered everything and everyone that was there. Obviously some were skeptical of this.
"Are you sure? This must've been a mistake" One guard asked the Crow Lord.
"I... I am afraid that is what the news said. Some of our elven friends found the village in ruins. Details would be sent later but for now they wanted to know if that was us but... we havent launched any attack..."
He was interrupted with the presence of Amaya. She made a puzzling look at the crowd around the Lord and everyone pretty much knew that she needed to know what was happening and fast.
One of the Guards nodded and told her about the incident near the Border. As the Guard finished she put a hand on her chin, thinking it might be one of the rebel groups attacks. She signed to one of the Guards who knew sign language to gather the Generals to the King's Room at once to discuss the matter further. He nodded and marched off. Amaya turned and urged the Crow Lord to her side as they had a new destination. They were going to need a lot of information regarding the subject.
...
As the Generals were gather just outside the King's Throne Room, the guards to the room looked at Amaya with suprise. They hadnt anticipated her arrival. She nodded to them and they lifted their spears to let them in. The doors opened and the chatter of the people intruded the King's Throne Room, a gust of wind greeted them as the warm air of the summer veered in.
"Air?" Amaya thought as she turned from the discussion. She saw the room was fine but a single window was open, letting that gust of air in. The windows werent allowed to be opened when the King was present in the room. She looked around the room in a small panic, trying to find her nephew.
"Not again..." she thought in her mind as her eyes were followed by her arms and hands as she desperatley looked around for Ezran. She saw a small glimmer behind the throne, under one of the blinds that showed the proud emblem of the house of the King, but now there was a small sliver of blood under it. She ran towards it and saw the little creature that had accompanied Ezran for almost all his life. Bait laid there breathing heavily with a wound to his leg and a bruise on his back. Amaya picked the creature up gently as it looked at her with a sad, defeated expresion on his face.
Her worse fears have come true again and now for the whole kingdom aswell. The King of the New Land of Katolis, had been kidnapped.
