Malfoy's p.o.v

At breakfast, Blaise is looking extremely smug.
I nudge him.

"why are you so happy?"
He grins evily.
"I beat up Potter last night."

I stare at him.

"you didn't."

Blaise leans back in his seat, smirking.
I try not to show him how pissed off I am.

"something wrong, Dray?"

I shake me head and force a smile.

"you should have told me you were gonna so I could help."

Blaise slaps me on the back and tucks into his bacon.
I push my plate away and stand up.

"I'm going to the library to do some studying."

Blasie hops up.

"can I come? I could use a hand with my potions homework."

I nod and grab my bag.
Blaise jogs to catch up with me as I quickly leave the hall.
As we walk, I notice how closely he's walking next to me.
Our hands keep brushing and his shoulder is pressed against mine. I ignore it and turn down the corridor towards the library when Blaise grabs me and pushes me into an empty classroom.
I watch him in confusion as he closes the door.
He catches me staring.

"it'll be quieter in here."

I just nod and spread my homework out on a desk.
He does the same but then drags his table closer to mine.

"I don't understand what the other properties of unicorn hair are."

He said, pointing at something in his book before rummaging in his bag.

"well, you can use it in a love potion, in some cures and some other shit I guess."

Blaise doesn't seem to be listening as he pulls out a flask of pumpkin juice and offers it to me. I take a swig before passing it back.
We work for awhile before the door opens. It's Potter. He's sporting a large bruise on the side of his face and a badly cut lip. I nod at him but he just glares at me and quickly closes the door.
I flinch as it slams.
Blaise notices.

"are you alright, Dray?"

I refrain from getting up and leaving.

"I'm great."

Blasie holds my gaze and frowns.

"you know you can talk to me, right?"

I just nod.
I thought I might have a chance with being friends with Potter this year but Blaise mucked it up.
I think I've liked Harry for awhile but I've just ignored it and now when I thought I had a chance with him, I ruin it.
I open a textbook and try to read it but Blaise puts his hand in the way. I look up at him.
He smiles softly and gently puts his hand on mine.
I'm surprised. Barely anyone has ever shown me any affection and I'm hurting from everything and Blaise is Blaise.
He looks at me.

"you like Potter."

I shake my head furiously until Blaise grabs my head and forces me to look at him.
Blaise stares at me.

"you like him."

"I do not."

"do so."

I sigh.

"fine, I like him. Only a tiny bit though."

Blaise bursts out laughing.

"I knew it! Sorry about beating him up and everything but I don't like the kid."

I shrug.

"none of my business."

I pull him into a hug.

"thanks Blaise."

He nods.

"no problem."

I stare at him.

"You have to say who you like now. "

He sighs.

"I like Luna."

I nods again, thinking its a slytherin chick.

"Luna Lovegood."

I stare at him.

"that weird ravenclaw girl??"

He laughs and shoves me.

"the one and only."

"let's see who can get their person to kiss them first, yeah?"

"alright then. Let the best man win."

We shake on it before starting to pack up our shit.
Grinning at him I shove all my stuff into my bag and go to leave.
Blaise steps in front of the door.

"I'm going down to the kitchen if you want to come."

I smirk and fall into step beside him.
