Avery's pov

I looked at my reflection in the mirror and finished up my little amount of make-up before grabbing my bag and heading downstairs.

"Goodmorning mom." I greeted my mother in the kitchen and kissed her on the cheek.

"Goodmorning sweetie, ready for today?" I nodded smiling and made myself some breakfast.

After I was done, I waited for Cassidey to come since we attend the same college.

"Cassie, hurry up!" She shouted some things back which I couldn't understand.

"I'm here, I'm here." She ran down the stairs, greeted our mom and searched around.

"Looking for something?" I asked and held the keys to her car up in the air. She rolled her eyes and grabbed it out of my hands, heading outside. "Bye mom." I smiled while she chuckled at our actions. I locked the door behind me and hopped in the car in the passenger seat beside her.

"Okay let's go." Cassidey nodded as she started the car.

"Hey girls," I smiled when I found my friends in the cantine. They smiled back and I sat down between Kaylee and Harper. "so what did I miss?"

"Joey started a fight with Mitchell." Ally exclaimed with a laugh.

"He did what? Why?" I asked surprised.

"Mitchell called Joey a 'zomby jock'." Ally informed me.

"A what?" I laughed.

"A jock without a brain." Harper explained.

Mitchell needs to stop acting all smart and cocky. If he wasn't the school's president, a lot of jocks would have beating the shit out of him. He's not a nerd or something, he's very fit and quite athletic. He's just too confident.

"So? Who won?" I asked excitedly. "It better be Joey. I hate Mitchell's guts." My friends laughed.

"That's only because he has tried to hook up with you a few times and when you rejected him, he started a couple rumors about you." Kaylee answered. I rolled my eyes playfully at her.

"It was hard to fade them away, especially in this school." I looked around the amount of people here. All laughing and making noise. I hated a few but I could get along with most of them. "Anyways.....the fight?"

"Oh right, Joey won." I smiled and threw my hands in the air in joy. "But they got caught so he was sent to the office. He will probably not play in the big game this saturday." I groaned when Ally told me.

"But he is one of the best players!  And he's the team captain! We literally need him!" I complained.

"I know, but he will probably find a way out." Harper shrugged. She's probably right. All the football players here do.

"So Ave, ready for cheer practise?"

"Yeah I guess." I simply let out.

"What an enthusiasm." Ally laughed.

"I'm just a bit tired." I replied, taking a sip of my drink.

"She probably stayed up late to talk to that guy again." Harper teased me. "What was his name again?"

"Jack." I smiled and looked down at my fingers. "So maybe we talked a little at night. But together with his friends in the group chat."

"I told you so." Harper replied smiling.

"When are you gonna meet this guy?" Kaylee asked me.

"Soon, I think. I sort of have to do it now since I told Cassidey I would. She challenged me again." I rolled my eyes slightly in annoyance.

"Yes! I love your sister." Ally laughed and clapped her hands together. "Date?"

"What?" I asked confused, a bit taken back.

"What's the date you're planning on seeing Jack?" Ally asked again. "I mean, you gotta tell your best friends so we can blow up your phone when it happens."

Oh how much I love it when that happens.

"I don't know yet, but soon. Like I told you, it just all needs to be settled. But he at least really lives in America." They all three chuckled. "Alright alright, I need to go. I'll see you later at cheering practise." I told them as I got up. I waved at them before heading out of the cantine and to my next class.

"That leg needs to go higher Jones!" My cheer coach told at me.

"Got it coach!" I yelled back and straighted my leg more in the air. It took me a few seconds before I realized a pair of eyes were fixed on me.

Or no wait, on my ass.

I sighed deepily knowing it was Mitchell with his 'bodyguards'.

"Go away Mitchell!" I sighed and placed my leg down, getting my water bottle. I saw him walking up to me in the corner of my eye.

"Oh come on Ave don't-"

"It's Avery." I glared at him.

"Fine." He sighed annoyed. "Avery." I gave him a fake smile and then was about to walk away when he grabbed a hold of my arm.

"Please Avery, don't you got one minute? For me?" I mentally gagged.

"No and don't touch me." I answered and pulled my arm back. "Or do I need to call Joey?" I asked and pointed at the field next to us where all the players were busy with their practise. I turned back to Mitchell and he raised an eyebrow at me.

"I thought he couldn't play?" He asked, anger laced in his voice.

"He has his ways." I shrugged. "That you didn't even know it. And you're the school's president." I knew this would annoy him. "Now go away before I call him over." I rolled my eyes and walked away from him. It took a few minutes but he finally left. I sighed out relieved and went back to my practise.
