"Would you rather have a missing finger or an extra toe?" She and Liam were sitting at the cheesecake factory and were playing 'would you rather..'.  Lily took a bite of her cheesecake before she answered. "An extra toe. I mean, you usually wear shoes so people would barely see it." Liam nodded. "Exactly. And if you missed a finger, how would you be supposed to write?" Lily chuckled. They had been shopping for over 2 hours when they had passed the cheesecake factory. Lily bought shirts, jeans, dresses, skirts and even a bikini for in the summer. "I feel liked you changed ever since you dyed your hair. You seem more.. you." Liam looked at her seriously with his ocean eyes. God, she could stare into his eyes for hours. Lily couldn't help but grin. He was right. The 'old' Lily wouldn't have even been able to dream about spending the entire day with Liam, but here she was. With her crush. Eating cheesecake. She wasn't even worried about him liking her back in a romantic kind of way, because the friendship thing was enough for her. For now at least. Not that she would turn him down if he asked her out on a date. Liam raised his arm to ask for the check. Lily opened her mouth to protest, but he put his hand on her arm and said: "It's on me, this time." He smiled and his straight, white teeth appeared. "Thanks." Lily couldn't ignore the flip her stomach was making. This time. That meant he thought there would be another time.

"Why are you smiling?" Lily ate the last potato on her plate and shook her head. "Nothing important." Her mom looked at her daughter in disbelief. "Hm. Seems like you had a good time with Liam today." Lily started choking on the water she had been drinking. Her dad started laughing as he saw Lily's cheeks get flushed. "Sensitive topic, huh?" He grinned at her and Lily threw a napkin at him. "Don't be so stupid, dad. I almost choked."But she couldn't stop herself from laughing. And that very moment right there, everything felt back to normal again. Like her parents weren't arguing all the time and that they were just a happy family. Lily's phone rang. She saw her dad's jaw tighten. "May I take this. Please?" Lily put on her puppy eyes which she knew her dad couldn't say no to. "Hurry it up. You have five minutes." Lily mumbled a 'thank you' as she walked out of the room and looked at her phone. Unknown caller. "Hi?" Her voice cracked. "Hey Lily. I hope you don't mind but my mom gave me your phone number. So I thought I'd call you." Lily's throat closed. Liam Asher had her phone number. Even better, he was calling her. "Yeah no that's fine. Whats up?" Lily was surprised at how relaxed her voice sounded. "I had a great time today and was thinking to maybe do it again?" Lily had to remember how to breathe. "Do you want to catch a movie on Friday?" Lily's jaw dropped. "Uh,yes. Yes, ofcourse! I'd love to." Lily wanted to scream. She did not just get asked out on a date. "Great," Liam answered quickly. "The premier of this new comedy is playing then. You know the one with Will Smith? Anyways the producer is going to be there and he is like this big deal so yeah." Lily barely listened to Liam talking about the movie and the producer. She was going on a date. A date with Liam Asher.
