"Yoongi, I need to talk to you. Can you come with me?"
Yoongi nodded his head while Hoseok dried his hands, before realizing that Hoseok was looking down into the still-running water of the kitchen sink and couldn't see his answer.
Yoongi reached forward, turned off the faucet, and vocalized his response, "Yeah. Of course, babe."
Hoseok silently hung the towel back in its place and walked into the living room with Yoongi in tow.
They sat on Hoseok's couch, Yoongi watching his boyfriend as he ran a hand through his brown hair. It fell back into place around his forehead as he took a deep breath.
The older boy spoke up.
"Hobi, look - I'm sorry I was so late. I know I've been late for nearly every dinner this week," he read the fatigued expression on Hoseok's face," more than a week if I'm honest. It's just... I'm in the middle of--"
"I... I got an offer today."
The apprehension that hung heavy in the air began to dissipate, but clouds of confusion took its place, "Hobi, that's - that's good news... right?"
"I don't know."
Just as Namjoon and Yoongi were working hard to break into music with their own respective mixtapes [a/n i gotta have RM and Agust D 😤], Hoseok was building himself a small reputation as a choreographer, going by the stage name j-hope.
He'd been training a group of girls - four friends whose first initials came together to spell their group name, ARMY [a/n also had to 🙃]. These girls recently came to the attention of a big record label, and in turn, brought Hoseok's talents into the spotlight.
"ARMY is getting picked up by a huge label, but they've refused to sign unless I join as their manager and choreographer."
"Again, I'm not seeing the problem, Hoba."
"The first thing they'll do after signing is go on tour. First throughout Korea, but then internationally. I would be... I'm going with them."
"... You signed."
"... Yes. This has been my dream, you know it has. And theirs. And I was hoping... I was hoping you'd want to come with me." Hoseok looked at Yoongi as if he already knew the answer.
Because, in a way, he did. Hoseok broached the subject of Yoongi moving in with him many a time throughout their relationship and he was always met with some excuse or another. (Namjoon needed help with their rent, he couldn't leave.... Yoongi's apartment was too small, Hoseok couldn't move in with them.... What was wrong with what they had already... He didn't want to look for a new place... )
Hoseok understood that, perhaps, Yoongi was afraid of that next step in their relationship, so he knew this suggestion would also be wildly out of his comfort zone. But, this was a unique opportunity and Hoseok really had the best of intentions.
"That's crazy!" Yoongi propelled himself off the couch, a hand coming up to rub his temples.
"You hate your job, baby." - This was true. Yoongi made a living after he graduated by making food deliveries. He worked hours that no one else would, riding his bike all around Seoul making deliveries to drunk twenty-somethings - "You wouldn't have to go back ever again, leave it behind. There are so many people I could introduce you to on tour. You could still work on your music. Yoongi, just think about it--"
