There's Part Of Me You'll Never Know

Monday morning arrives. Once again, I wake up early and arrive at school before everyone else. I love how quiet it is, but I feel lonely without Dom.

I sit in the music room alone with a guitar in my lap, I can't think of anything to play, I can only think about the events of last week.

I roll up my sleeves and look down at my wrists, the last cut has almost healed. Somehow Dom didn't notice the scars, I'm thankful for that. I'd hate to tell him that he was the cause of them, after the way he and everyone treated me this was the only way for me to cope. But since he told me how he feels, I don't crave pain anymore, I crave happiness and love instead.

I look at the clock, 8:15, there's still 15 minutes before people start to arrive. I return to my thoughts.

The door opens, I expect to see Dom but my music teacher Mrs. Bird enters the room.

"So Matthew, I heard you joined Gothic Plauge. How's everything going?"

Mrs. Bird is one of the few people who knows my secret, she spoke to me after class one day, after reading some lyrics I wrote. She was concerned for me, as she found the lyrics to be very dark.

Controlling my feelings for too long,
Forcing our darkest souls to unfold,
And pushing us into self destruction,
They make me dream your dreams,
Make me scream your screams.

I had to tell someone and I trust her, she's always been there for me, she helped me through the torment. She encouraged me to express myself through music.

"Yeah everything's all right, just gotta wait until Andy and Mark get over the fact that I'm in the band now." I smirk.

"And what about Dominic, is he causing you any problems?"

"No, it was Dom who asked me to join Gothic Plague in the first place. We've settled our differences and everything's good now." I resist the urge to tell her about us.

"That's good to hear, I'm glad everything's getting better for you now Matthew." Her lips curve into a warm smile.

Once again, I look at the clock.

8:25

Mrs. Bird leaves the music room and heads in the direction of the staff room, leaving me alone again.

I heard footsteps running through the corridor, heading towards the music room. The door flies open to reveal a rather sweaty Dom.

"Hey Matty, sorry I'm late." Dom runs into my arms. I quickly pull down my sleeves before he sees the scars, I can't let him know.

"It's ok Dommeh, I love you."

"Love you too Matty!"
