I sat on my bed playing Unintended on my guitar, thinking about how I could change it, could I add an intro? Or would that ruin it? I hear a knock on the front door, my mum answers it.

"Matt, it's for you! It's some lad called Dom!" I hear her shout at the top of her voice. I throw my guitar on my bed and run down the stairs.

"Hey Dom, why you here?" I ask out of breath.

"Go on upstairs you two, I'm just making tea. I'll shout you when it's ready."

"Thanks mum!" I drag Dom up to my room.

"I'm sorry to turn up without asking." Dom looks down at his hands.

"No worries, you can come over anytime." I smile grabbing his hand. Something's wrong, I can tell. Dom grips onto my hand tightly.

"You know earlier at The Den... when we kissed..." I see tears begin to form in his cold grey eyes.

"Is everything ok Dom?"

"My sister... she saw us kiss, and well... my whole family was sitting in the living room talking. Then... one of my cousins asked me if I had a girlfriend. But of course my stupid sister had to butt in... and she... told everyone about me... us, everything. They all shouted at me to leave and now I don't know what to do." His hands tremble as tears roll down his face, hitting the pale blue bed sheets.

"Dom, come with me." I wrap my arms around him and take him downstairs to the kitchen. My mum immediately runs over to Dom and I.

"What's the matter darling?" Worry spreads across her face.

"Mum, I'm gay and Dom's my boyfriend." I never thought I'd say those words out loud. But I needed to, for Dom's sake.

"I'm so happy for you love, but why's Dom upset?" She puts one hand on Dom's shoulder and the other on my mine.

"Dom's family aren't excepting of his sexuality. His sister saw us kiss, earlier at The Den and then told the rest of Dom's family-" Dom cuts me off.

"They told me to leave and I don't know what to do now." Dom wipes his nose on his jumper.

"You can stay here, we've got a spare room. Why don't you stay here for the night, then we'll go back to your house to sort things out in the morning?" Mum smiles at Dom.

"I don't want to bother you though..." Dom swallows his tears.

"Come on, let's get you upstairs. You can borrow some of Matt's Pjs for tonight."

"Ok..." he wipes his cheeks dry.

"Tea's almost done, you go and get changed. By the time you're ready, food will be waiting for you. Hope you like lasagne." Mum goes back to the kitchen.

"Thank you Mrs Bellamy"

"Please, call me Marilyn."

We walk back to my room. I let Dom pick out some Pyjamas. As promised, when we went downstairs, three plates of lasagne were on the dining table. We sit down at the table, Mum appears moments later carrying two glasses of orange juice.

"Enjoy!" Mum smiles as we all dig in.

"This is delicious, I've never had lasagne that tastes this good before. Where did you get it from?" Dom barely understandable as he shoves another forkfull of lasagne into his mouth.

"I didn't get it from anywhere, I made it from scratch." Mum laughs at Dom's behaviour.

"What! Even the pasta?"

"Yes, I made the pasta too. Matt loves pasta, he's loved it ever since he was young." Mum smiles at me, as I turn away from embarrassment.

"I can see why he loves it, it's amazing. It's like a professional chef made it!"

"Thank you Dom. How long have you been together?

"Just since yesterday." I look up at my mum, she always looks so happy.

"How did you meet?"

"Is this 20 questions now?" I laugh.

"No I'm just curious."

"Ok then, I was sat on The Den singing to myself looking up at the clouds, when Dom came over to me and confessed his feelings for me."

"Aww that's sweet."

"I've had a huge crush on Matt for awhile, and I only just found the balls to tell him. It took me ages to find the courage because of my home life." Dom scoops the last bit of lasagne into his mouth.

"If you ever need some space, you can come here anytime. There's always a spare key under the doormat, just come on in. Don't go stealing anything though." Mum playfully punches Dom's arm.

"Thank you so much Marilyn!"

"No problem Dom, I know how bad families can be. Right on another note, how do you two fancy a hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and a flake?"

"Oh yes please!" Me and Dom say in sync.

"You two are definitely made for each other, I can tell." Mum giggles and goes back to the kitchen. She returns 5 minutes later, carrying 3 mugs of hot chocolate.

"Thank you so much, these look so tasty!" Dom looks at the hot liquid with a spark in his eye.

We soon finish our drinks.

"You boys should go to bed, I'll wake you up at 8 so we can sort you out Dom. I promise that everything will be ok." Mum hugs us both before we make our way back to our rooms.

"You would say anything,
You would try anything,
To escape your meaningless,
And your insignificance,
You're uncontrolable,
And we are unloveable."

I sing softly to myself as I drift off into a deep sleep, thinking how all these lyrics I wrote relate to me and Dom, and our lives in the past and present.
