Chapter 1: The Betrayal

Percy POV

I was heading down to the beach from the pavilion trying to find Annabeth. Recently, everyone in camp has been distant because I had gained a new brother. He spread rumors about me doing horrible things at camp, and everyone believed him. All except for Nico, Thalia, and Annabeth. Nico would send anyone in camp a glare if they so much as stared at me the wrong way, and Thalia was with the hunters so she didn't really know what was going on. Annabeth was starting to separate from me, and I was hoping to propose today before she could go any further.

As I was on my way down there I heard people cheering the very distinct words 'Kiss, Kiss, Kiss.' I traveled farther down the hill, and what I saw brought tears to my eyes. In the middle of a crowd of campers stood Annabeth and my brother, Gabe, making out with more passion than we ever had. I saw Nico standing there glaring at them with so much hatred I'm surprised they didn't combust. The hunters were supposed to be arriving at camp today, and I was going to tell Thalia about the proposal but I guess that's not gonna happen. Speak of the devils just as I was about to start walking away, the hunters with Artemis and Thalia leading them, walked into camp.

Thalia saw my face and the crowd, and started striding towards me causing the hunters and Artemis to follow curiously. Upon getting closer to me she saw what was happening, and crushed me in a hug that could rival the devils snare. She looked over at Nico, and even she shivered at the shriveling glare that he gave Annabeth. Without taking his eyes off the crowd, Nico silently stalked toward us, and placed a hand on my shoulder.

As the hunters and Artemis got closer they could see what was happening, and even Artemis looked pissed at the girl that stood there snogging my brother. The hunters and Artemis had become fond of me, and they didn't like seeing me hurt. That was all it took for me to break down sobbing on the grassy hill. Nico and Thalia dropped down with me, and pulled me into a group hug. My head lay on Nico's shoulder, who's head was on top of mine, and Thalia's head was on my shoulder. They held me as I sobbed and when I stopped we stood up. They were still kissing as I walked over and threw the ring to the ground at their feet.

They turned to look at me as I said "Here you go Annabitch, hope your happy with your little boy-toy." Annabeth turned to look at me horror evident on her face. "W-wait Percy I-I —," "Save it Annabeth, go be happy with Gabe." I stormed off to my cabin Thalia and Nico following me with one last glare at the crowd. Artemis and the hunt didn't follow because they were to busy chewing out Annabeth, Gabe, and the crowd of campers.

When I was inside I sat on my bed while Nico and Thalia tried to comfort me.
