Still Nico POVWhen we arrived around the back of the house, I had to sit down for a minute because of how long the jump was. I stood up on shaky legs, and Thalia handed me a bit of nectar. After I mumbled a quiet 'thanks' she asked Percy one more time if he was sure about letting us stay with him. He confirmed it was okay, and said she could probably even enroll us in school. Thalia reluctantly agreed, and we walked around to the front of the house.
Percy knocked on the door, and a middle-aged woman with kind brown eyes, and a warm smile that could melt anyone's heart, answered. She had slightly gray hair, and crinkle lines around her eyes that you could tell were from smiling so much. I could see all of the tension in Percy's body relax as soon as he saw her. He gained a soft smile on his face and said, "hey mom." Before he could even finish that sentence, she pulled him into a hug that I could tell he really needed. After that she pulled us all inside, and gave even Thalia and I a hug. I sighed and relaxed into the first motherly embrace I had in a while. Sally invited us into the house, and walked into the kitchen to finish the tea she had started making. She came back out with a tray that held four cups and the kettle of tea. When she sat down she poured a cup for each of us, and handed them out. "What happened," she asked. And with that Percy lost it. His sobs were so heartbreaking that I almost started crying but I had to stay strong for them. We all gathered in a group hug, and even Thalia started crying because of Annabeth's betrayal. When their sobs and sniffles died down Percy started explaining what happened. I didn't pay any attention because I already know what happened. I looked at a piece of the wall and started zoning out. I knew something was going to change here.
Percy POV
After explaining I decided to go for a walk down at the rez my mom told me about, when she said she would enroll us in Forks high school. I had a weird feeling that something was going to happen, but it wasn't bad. I wonder if Nico and Thalia felt it too. I heard rustling a little farther off in the woods, and stuffed my hand into my pocket, checking if Riptide was there. Once I made sure I peered closer into the direction the noise came from. Suddenly out of nowhere a giant wolf ran into the clearing I had wandered into. For some reason I didn't pull out riptide even when the majestic beast came to a halt. It looked into my eyes as it froze, and I could tell the sight of me made it happy. I wonder why. I slowly walked up to the wolf, and stroked its muzzle. I had never seen a monster like this, and I'm pretty sure it isn't Greek. It gave a contented purr, and I let out a small giggle that seemed to make the wolf proud.
Jake POV
I was running around the forest in wolf form to get some exercise when I felt the need to go in a certain direction. I sniffed the air, and caught the beautiful scent of the sea and watermelon. I headed in that direction , and came upon a clearing where a boy stood. He seemed ready to attack anything that came his way, but when he saw me he froze. I came to a stop, and looked into his beautiful sea green eyes. I could tell they were broken, and I felt the center of my gravity shift to him. That's when I knew I imprinted, and vowed to protect this boy from the dangers of the world. He seemed mesmerized and not at all afraid of me. He walked up to me and stroked the fur of my muzzle to which I let out an extremely embarrassing purr. He giggled, and I felt all my embarrassment melt into pride at getting him to laugh. I could tell it would usually take a lot to get him to laugh. His laugh sounded melodic like a siren (the mermaid kind not a police siren lol), and I couldn't resist the urge to muzzle my face into his neck, grazing my canines over his scent gland. He let out a soft gasp, and blushed like he had just realized something. Then he spoke and my heart melted inside my chest because his voice was beautiful, and held so much warmth I was ready to burst. He said, "Hey big guy, what are you doing out here all alone," he paused, "do you have a pack?"
I nodded and he continued, "you should probably get back to them I don't want them to think you were kidnapped." That was when I knew he knew what I was, yet he seemed the least bit afraid. That's when I really caught his scent, and I smelt the underlying wolf in it. I knew he wasn't like us, but he was still a wolf, so my giddiness went up 100%. I nodded and barked a good bye before headed back to the pack house.
Once I got there I mind linked the pack asking someone to bring me a pair of clothes. A few seconds later Seth came out, and handed me some, and I nodded to him gratefully before going behind a tree and shifting back so I could put the clothes on. Seth returned to inside the house with the rest of the pack, and I quickly followed, the goofy smile never leaving my face. I walked into the living room where Emily and the pack were, and perched myself on the armrest. As soon as I entered the pack gradually quieted down as they realized I wasn't talking. I was thinking about the boy in the woods, and his beautiful eyes when the pack realized why I wasn't talking. They smirked and all talked at once,
"Who's the lucky girl,"
"When did this happen,"
"Is she cute."
I then realized that I would have to tell them I imprinted on a guy. My smile faded, and I was internally panicking, 'what if they don't accept me.' Emily saw the frown on my face and yelled for the pack to quiet down. I smiled at her gratefully, and she returned it with a reassuring one. I looked at the pack and quickly said, "Iimprintedonaboy." Sam laughs and says, "your gonna have to talk a little slower Jake." I took a deep breath and repeated, "I imprinted.. on a boy."
The pack paused for a second, but after a few minutes of talking they all eventually came around. Paul rephrased his question and said, " ok then, who's the lucky guy." I replied with, " I don't know his name. I saw him in the woods when I was in wolf form, and he wasn't scared of me. I could tell he knew what I was, and then I realized he was a wolf too. Not like our kind though, so there must be other kinds out there." The pack looked astonished at the fact that there might be a different kind of wolf out there.
After a second Seth bounced right back to his normal self and asked, "well, what did he look like."
I said, " he has jet black hair, fair skin, and these beautiful sea green eyes. He's basically one of those guys that all the girls fight over at school. If he didn't have human eyes, I would think he's a Cullen or something like that." I sent a mental picture of the pack, and I could tell even the ones with imprints thought he was cute. Leah snarked, "how did you manage to catch that." I stuck my tongue out at her, and like the immature children we are, she did it right back. Sam intervened, "guys knock it off." I sent her a playful glare once we were out of Sam's line of sight. After that we discussed what the beautiful boy in the woods could possibly be.
