We are up 14-15 we need to keep playing defense and maybe we can win. The pitcher winds up and crack I hear the sound of the bat. I watch the ball soar hoping someone will catch it. Lynn catches it and fires to first for the second out. The ball gets to the plate 5 seconds before the runner. I start to jog back to the dugout ready to bat when I hear the words SAFE! "The umpire must be mental!" I thought to myself. I turn around all ready pieved off and ready to yell. I walk up to the ump and yell, "What in the fudge was that she was out!" I couldn't believe it I could swear this guy needed glasses. Heck I was ready to buy them for him. He turned away from me and kept walking. I couldn't believe him. One more out that's all we needed to win the championship. I gave my pitcher the signal and she let it rip. It sped through the air and hit my glove. Strike one. I gave the sign for the curve ball and our pitcher wound up released and missed. Ball one it went back and forth like this until full count. By now I was sweating badly. I was hoping our pitcher was as good as I thought she was. It felt like the moment went on forever it soared through the air and hit my glove. Strike three your out. Yes I jumped up and screamed. We had won for the first time in 37 years! I ran to where my team huddled and got ready to congratulate the other team. They looked mad and gave us all dirty looks. This was the best thing to happen to me since the event............
