It was a Friday and Frankie couldn't wait to go home and sleep off the weekend. The week had been really hard on her for some reason. She loved her students so much, but they had all been leaving her very stressed that week, whether it be because Joey and Chris, two best friends, wouldn't shut up the entire week or that Hayley hadn't updated her for a few days when she almost always did and it was worrying Frankie.

Pushing away her thoughts, she continued packing her bag for home. All she needed to bring home was her lunch bag and her class's assignment that had been due that day. She would try and grade as many as she could, but sadly that would probably not happen with her weekend plans. Her cousin was getting married and of course Frankie had to be a bridesmaid. She didn't mind too much, but she felt too spent to do much of anything. Nevertheless, she flicked her short red hair out of her face and shouldered her bag. She needed to get home fast and prepare to leave for the wedding reception the next day that was, of course, in New York and would be a two-hour drive. Sighing as she made her way to her car she pulled her phone out. She ignored most of the texts she got, most being notifications from a group chat with some of the other teachers. It was all boring messages about what to give for homework or what to do about so-and-so always being late to class. She'll admit it, she didn't get along amazing with all the teachers at the high school because not all thought she was qualified enough at twenty-three to be a teacher. If she weren't qualified enough would she have skipped a few years of school? No.

Frankie was honestly so sick of not being taken seriously by some people at the school. She thought she worked just as hard, if not harder, than they did. Frankie admits, maybe her class wasn't seen as so important to the other teacher, but she played a huge role in a lot of things that happened at the school and many students favorite her.

As she pulled out of the school parking lot and started driving down the road, instead of taking the left turn that would start the five minute drive back to her apartment, she turned right seeming to go on autopilot. She barely realized she was headed to Hayley's until she was pulling up at the familiar complex. Getting out of the car as soon as she parked she rushed over to Hayley's door, knocking loudly enough for her to hear. Within seconds the door was pulled open.

"Hey Hayley." Hayley raised her eyebrows and waved as Frankie spoke. "Can I come in?" She nodded. "You haven't updated me at all this week, hun. How have you been? You know I worry about you." Hayley flicked her hand downwards as if to say 'I'm fine'. "Okay, have you had enough to eat today? I have to get ready for the wedding soon, but I can make you some dinner before I leave! I know you love grilled cheese so why don't I make you that and we can watch teen wolf before I -"

"Francesca, I'm not a baby and you're not my mother." Hayley croaked out, which made Frankie grin like a mad man despite the use of her full name.

"Okay, okay! I get it, Hayl!" Hayley sent a vicious glare Frankie's way. "I get it, Hayley." She amended. Frankie was over the moon ecstatic that Hayley had spoken and the fact that her voice had more diction.

"I ate the correct amount of food, I took my meds and look," She thrust out her arms. "I'm fine, okay?" Her voice still sounded weak, but the noise filled the usually quiet room up. Frankie smiled and grabbed Hayley's arms, bringing her in for a hug. For the first time in weeks probably, Hayley laughed a little, "Frankie, I'm not dying!" Frankie stiffened at her words, "Sorry," Hayley mumbled.
