Ashton was late. He was so so late. He told Milana and George that he would make it to all the rehearsals. But then...Luke got the band some great gigs and they were gone for a few weeks.
Today is the wedding day and he's rushing to get there on time. He was almost late again because he estimated how long the ride would be wrong.
He ran into the church, frantic, he was so scared he was too late again.
"George!" He yelled as he ran into the room for the groomsmen.
"Holy shit Ashton! You're actually here! Man, oh my God!" George quickly pulled Ashton in for a hug. "'Lana was so worried you wouldn't be able to make it because the band and was so scared that Frankie, her cousin, would have to walk alone and I had to go in and calm her down and wow! You should probably go check with her, let her know you're here." Ashton nodded with understanding, slightly chucking.
"Frankie, huh? That's the name of the lucky lady I'm spending the day with." He put his hand on George's shoulder, elated to be back with his mate.
"Yeah," George told him. "Frankie's great, Milana used to spend a lot of time at her house." The two conversed quickly before George shoved him out insisting he check in with the bride-to-be. When Ashton found the correct door he pushed them open and yelled, "Milana! Babe, I told you I'd make it in time!" Her reaction was priceless to him as she ran over hugging him and telling her how he missed her. She continued to introduce him to her friends, but he had zoned out. His focus had singled out on a certain red head; her hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail with distinct red lipstick. She had captivated him the moment his eyes found her hazel ones. He wanted to know her name. He wanted to immediately talk to her. There was just something about her and he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Ashton!" Milana snapped her manicured fingers in front of Ashton's face to wake him out of his trance. "Stupid, you were zoning out. I was trying to tell you that, first, you need to go take that hat off for the ceremony because I don't care how much you love it you, Ashton Fletcher Irwin, will not even think about wearing a fedora to my wedding! Second, meet your bridesmaid, Frankie." She pointed to the girl that had been clouded his mind already. Ashton blinked; Frankie was such a brilliant name for a girl so...so...he didn't even know.
"H-hi Frankie," Ashton coughed and tried to cover up his stutter, but to no use, he could tell it was noticed when she began to slightly giggle. She waved to him. "Well Milana, I better go get rid of this hat now shouldn't I?" She nodded and he stumbled out of the room. When he reached the hallway he put his back against the wall and slid down it, his face still bright red. He was such an embarrassing mess.

"Okay Tina and Ryan you're next!" Milana's wedding planner whispered to the bridal and groom parties as she ushered the pairs down the isle. As the next two, Tina and Ryan, walked away she tapped on Ashton and Frankie's shoulders. "You two, you're going now. Francesca dear, you remember from rehearsal what to do so Ashton, just follow Francesca. Got it? Good, now go! Shoo, shoo!" Ashton fumbled to grab her arm as each pair had done before and they started their way down the isle. He took notice of how the shoes she was wearing made her much taller than she looked before. As they made it halfway down the shoes and her somewhat longer dress made her began to fall. Sensing it before it happened Ashton hooked tighter onto her arm and pulled her upright before she could cause a scene.
"Thanks." She mumbled slightly to him. This made him grin with a slight smugness to it, as he said 'no problem'. He heard her whisper something to herself but chose to ignore it as they reached their splitting point.
The exchanged of vows was lagged on to Ashton and he soon found himself wishing he could pay attention and enjoy it rather than think about a certain red head who had caught his eye. He was strangely excited for later when he got to dance with her and let him think he had some small sliver of a chance to get to know her better, because really that was all he wanted.
But for now he needed to watch his two good friends make a bond together. Form something stronger than just a friendship. They were making something that could over power anything. He watched as they said 'I do' and sealed their words with a band to be placed on their finger. A band that would represent all they had gone through and all they are. Something he had already gave up on wanting long ago.

"Frankie, may I have this dance?" Ashton asked the red head as he bowed slightly, his hand extended. He had been waiting for the party portion of the wedding just to ask her.
Frankie raised her eyebrows at him and crossed her arms over her yellow dress. "Why would I dance with you? I don't even know you."
Ashton did admit she had a fair point, but he would never tell her that. "Oh but Frankie this will help you get to know me!"
She stayed put, "I'm fine, thank you." He closed his eyes briefly.
"You do realize you have to dance with me later anyway right?"
Frankie nodded, "Yes, so I'll just wait and endure the torture when it's absolutely necessary. Anyway, that dance won't count for anything, it's all the bridesmaids dancing with the groomsman, plus it's less than a minute long."
Ashton sucked in a quick breath. "You wound me Frankie, really. But I like you, you're...different."
She quirked her head to the side, "Thanks?"
"I promise you that I will make you want to dance with me by the end of the night, Frankie."
"Oh really now?"
"Yep, and I always follow through on my promises." But, little did Ashton know that his promise would be much harder to complete than he expected.
