All nine of the boys started feeling tired after marching through the forests for what felt like days. „We'll have to rest for a while. Let's find a shelter or something and hide for the night. We need like two people that will look out for any danger at night.", Chan said, being something like the leader of the teens. „I'll do it. Do you wanna join Hyunjin?", Changbin asked his best friend to which Hyunjin nodded. „Me and Seungmin can change with you guys so you'll get some rest too.", Felix said and pointed to Seungmin who just gave a reassuring smile to the first patrol.
After a while the boys found a small cave, giving them a roof over their heads and protecting them from the storm that was making quite a loud noise. „Chan, it's cold.", Jeongin, the youngest said while sitting himself down next to the eldest. Chan started to make a fire with the few still dry sticks that they picked up on their way. Their hunger also made itself noticeable, making Woojin actually hunt a big rabbit that was wandering in the wild earlier. „I'm so sorry little one, we need to survive too.", Woojin sighed as he took off the fur and started roasting the meat. Even though it was hard for them to survive, this was way better than staying in the lab.
„I still can't believe we're out of there. Even if we get caught, I'm so thankful for the two days we spent outside. I actually wish we could stay like that.", Hyunjin mumbled after a while. Chan just smiled at him and looked into the stars. „I'm happy that it actually worked out. I studied the garden over and over again, overheard the guards talking about when and where the new test objects would be delivered. There was even no alarm when we took off with the bus. It was as if it never happened.", Chan whispered back to not wake up the others.
It felt suspicious. There was nothing that was set off when the nine of them escaped. Did the guardians purposely not set off an alarm to not scare them and were actually right behind them? Or did they actually think that the bus was completely empty? Either way, everyone probably noticed that they were gone. One of the scientists always said that Chan was their best test object, always showing them amazing results and showing off his powers.
„Chan? Where are we gonna go after we wake up? Do you know where the city is?", Hyunjin asked the older one. He had his doubts when he read Chan's message a few days ago. What would happen if they got caught? What if the plan didn't work out? „I actually think that we shouldn't go to the city. It'll be too dangerous for us there. What if there are missing persons posters? I bet they're gonna send bounty hunters or just anyone to get us back.", Chan said „We'll have to hide for a while."
