It's not uncommon for weird things to happen in Storybrooke, but when you, a complete stranger, stumble into town with no memories whatsoever, the level of strange is more or less off the charts. You make your way to the hospital where Whale finds you — or you find him — and he softly approaches you, asking your name and if you're okay. Everyone else is on edge and wary of you, but Whale personally makes sure you are nurtured back to health and spends most of his shifts with you. Even as a fairytale character, he doesn't necessarily believe in miracles, but he doesn't know what else to believe when he suddenly starts looking forward to coming to work.
❝Don't worry, you're safe. And you're going to be okay. I'll make sure of it, I promise.❞
