The casting directors wanted her to be Ariel. That's that. If they really wanted this movie to not be made, they should have gone to the people in charge. Even then, Halle should not be attacked like this. It's absolutely disgusting and there are a lot more comments like these. People are really bullying her over something underwhelming.
