A/N: This is going to be quite a long scene. I am doing the 30-day challenge and should have about a 15,000 word story by now and I'm pulling in at 2,000+. I have been gone for awhile, applying and hoping for a job. Well, guess what? I got the job :) So now that I have my job, as of a week from today, I'll have even LESS time to do all this. The camera opens on a shot of Rory, packing up her bags. She is in a hotel in Sacramento, and about to leave to head to the conference in San Francisco.
June 20th, 2008
Rory's cell phone rings.
RORY: (answering) Hello?
LORELAI: Hi, sweets.
RORY: Morning, Mom. How are you?
LORELAI: I'm doing just dandy, how are you?
RORY: You know what day it is.
LORELAI: Tuesday?
RORY: The day I'm going to..
LORELAI: Disneyland??
RORY: No.
LORELAI: Puppy world.
RORY: You're really gonna make me say it?
LORELAI: I'm holding my breath.
RORY: San Francisco.
LORELAI: There it is!
RORY: I'm excited. I've traipsed over Europe, now it's time to conquer the states.
LORELAI: The land of the free.
RORY: The home of the brave.
LORELAI: Hey, do you wanna be really brave and call your ex-boyfriend to tell him you're in town?
RORY: No, I don't.
LORELAI: But, you might bump into him. It might be good to let him know you'll be around.
RORY: Mom, do you know how big the city of San Francisco is?
LORELAI: Is it bigger than a bread box?
RORY: It's huge, mom. With an area of 231.9 square miles.
LORELAI: You just never know, hon.
RORY: Okay, well my cab is here, I have to go.
LORELAI: Make sure to get some of the city sights in. See Alcatraz if you can.
RORY: Okay, I will.
LORELAI: Take pictures going over the bridge!
RORY: You do know, driving into San Francisco, you go over the Bay Bridge, not the Golden Gate, right?
LORELAI: Tomato, ToMAto.
RORY: Right.
LORELAI: Enjoy Frisco.
RORY: (shaking head) Talk later, love you. (hangs up)
Rory takes her bags and exits the hotel room. The camera changes to a shot of Lorelai, standing in her room, looking at her wedding dress.
There is a knock at the front door.
LUKE: Lorelai?
LORELAI: Luke!
Luke walks in.
LORELAI: Luke, are you coming upstairs?
LUKE: Yes, I am.
