(Just to get you guys nice and wet-)

On the nighttime streets of Vale, a low mist hung over the darkened roads. Distant music and fluorescent lights echoed in the faraway skies - in the city's centre, not too far off from the lonelier quiet of the Vale City's underside bridge.

A lone, young man in his early 20s sat alone, eyes peeking out and around from under his wide-brimmed hood, as though watching... Waiting for something.

He stuck his shaking hands into the pockets of his long dark jacket, shivering in the cold, pressing them against his own body as though to hold something in. This was taking much longer than he'd hoped it would. A groan left his lips gently, as he pulled a hand from his pocket and clutched his belly... Still slowly bleeding where the skin seemed to have opened.

His eyes glued to the floor, he glared at the dark.

'Meet under the bridge in 10 minutes', that what they said. He'd gotten there in only 7 minutes. He'd waited for 3. That meant that they had to be here around-

???: "Are you the caller?"

A pause. The boy glanced over in surprise, at the man in black that had appeared right there, without making so much as a sound. Pale complexion, sunglasses over his eyes, despite the darkness all around...

Hesitantly, the boy nodded.

???: "Doctor West takes payment upfront,"

The man said, glancing down the the tiny pool of blood that'd accumulated at the boy's feet.

???: "And by the looks of it, you don't have much time to argue the price."

Boy: "Is it... Is it still what we agreed about through the phone...?"

The boy asked, slowly, uncertainly.

???: "The price hasn't changed."

The man concurred. With a slow nod, the boy reached into his back pocket and pulled out a handful of lien... He flicked through it, before putting a small sum back into his pocket, and handing the larger quantity to the man.

Boy: "I-It's all there... 200 lien, no more, no less-"

An instant after swiping it, the man turned, not even bothering to count. The boy looked on in surprise, as the man gave him a look, and carefully licked his lips in an... Odd, predatory fashion.

???: "I'll count it at the clinic. Come on now, unless you intend to bleed to death out here?"

The boy stared for only a mesmerised second, before lowering his gaze and following, running out from under the bridge and staying behind the man as they walked along the aqueduct. He glanced off to the side, at the water running down the canal just next to them.

Boy: "T-this river doesn't seem clean... Is it really the most convenient place for the clinic...?"

???: "Don't ask questions."

Boy: "H-hm...?"

The man turned his head and gave the boy a dark glare.

???: "I believe the person you called mentioned a 'no questions' policy. That goes both ways. We aren't about to ask you how that cut across your gut happened, so you don't ask us anything about our business besides maybe 'how much do I pay?', and 'when do I change the bandage?', things like that."

Boy: "...right... Of course, just... Please, hurry..."

At that, the man stopped, and turned around to face the boy. The boy looked up at the man, stunned. Did he say something out of line? Did the man not like being told to hurry?
