Keep You Safe

Lena opened her eyes with a yawn and a warm feeling in her body. She had looked through soft blond curls before realizing that something was wrapping her, breathing in her neck while Karl's back was pressed against her front, sleeping peacefully.

Everything was dark and she couldn't recognize some things in the room. In fact, she didn't know where she was. Her surroundings were black and dark. Freeing her hand from Karl's back and her hip compressing it, she checked her watch and realized that it was midnight.

She reached for her phone in her pocket and turned it on so there was a bit of light. Slowly, she faced her back to see Supergirl wrapped around her. She took out a sigh. Kara pulled her head away from Lena's neck to face her as she slowly opened her eyes and smiled before seeing the Luthor's facial expression.

"I'm sorry, did I startle you? " Kara whispered.

"Oh, no, it's just my face when I wake up."

"Or maybe it just is because you're not used to sleeping at night."

"Maybe it is." Lena chuckled. "Where are we? "

"We're at a special room in the DEO. The bedroom."

"The DEO has a bedroom?"

"Cool, right? " Kara said with the obvious grin on her face.

"Hm. I guess there are just some things that.. aren't seen right away." Lena said, as they both frowned and looked away.

As Kara looked at Lena again, she held her hand and smiled faintly. "Get some sleep, Lena. There's a whole day ahead of us."

"You too... Kara." Lena smiled while facing the Kryptonian before her back faced Kara's front. Kara moved close to her friend and placed her arms slowly above Lena, wrapping her in a not-so-tight hug, carefully not to literally crush her.

Lena turned off her phone and closed her eyes and felt Kara's breath in her neck once again, sending chills down her spine but later relaxing. Kara kissed the back of her head and closed her eyes. Sleep reigned once more in the pitch-black room.

7 am. Lena slowly removed Kara's arm from her waist, making sure to not wake the sleeping Kryptonian. Lena went out the door and received a greeting from Alex.

"G'morning, Lena." Alex smiled.

Lena smiled back and greeted the director.
"Good morning, Alex. "

"Is Kara still sleeping? "

"Yes. Karl is with her. They seemed to sleep peacefully so I didn't wake any of them."

"Hmm. Lena, can I ask you a question? "

"You just did."

"Seriously."

"Go ahead. "

"What's your deal with Kara? "

"She's my best friend, and she's Supergirl. That's why I want to keep her safe."

"Do you love her? "

"She's my best friend, of course I love her."

"Cut the bullshit, Lena. Kara likes you. She loves you. Now what the fuck is your deal? "

"Hold on. Director, why are you asking me this?"

"Kara loves you very much and I'm her sister. I know her. And I know that she'd always put you before the world. I don't want her getting hurt."
