When someone asks about my future

I have no answer

What lies ahead is dark

A midnight fog blinds my vision

I trample across the trail

With no knowledge of where my next step will land

I squint my eyes in effort to see

anything

But I see

nothing

not a single thing

When someone asks about my future

I have no answer

I try to see where my mind leads me

But the thought never seems to make my heart race

Or make it pound with excitement and passion

Tired at the lack of result despite the effort

I give up trying

I wait and let fate guide me

Like a surprise waiting to be revealed

To pop up with confetti in the air in celebration

For the cloth to erode and unveil what lies beneath it

So that I will have an answer

An answer that makes my lips smile at the thought

An answer that pumps my heart with passion
