Jason:
I was shocked to say the least that the Devon residency was just a mound of ashes. I quickly parked my matte black GT mustang in front of the once house, and trudged towards the ruins. "What do we got Anthony?" I just wanted good news for once, but by the look on his face, I wasn't going to get it. "Two bodies so far were found. One was William and the other his wife. Both are burnt to a crisp but were shot before the fire. They have a daughter, but we're unsure if she was here at the time of the attack."
I loose it. "You have to be FUCKING KIDDING ME! Can i just have one good day where things go my way! Is it too much to ask for or am I crazy for wanting that?!" Before I could pull out my gun and kill someone, Brudy, a new member, called my attention. I walk over to him holding open a fridge door. I shove him out of the way to see the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
She was covered in ash with tear stains falling down her cheeks. She looked scared, confused, and cold. Seeing this angel frightened and in pain tugged at my heart strings. I never felt the need to protect anything but my mother. I didn't push these feelings away like most in my line of work would do, instead I invited them in.
I go to pick her up and the weak girl tried to fight. I small horse scream escaped her lips making me want to hide her from all of the bad in the world. I quickly tucked her into my neck and held her to my body as close as I could get her. I pet her knotted hair to calm her down, but she still shook in my arms.
"That's Devon's daughter. What do you want us to do with her boss?" Anthony asked in a tone that sounded he could care less about this piece of treasure in my arms. "None of you will touch a single strand of hair on this girl's body! Do you all understand?!" I didn't bother seeing my men's reactions for I focused on the terrified female in my arms.
"Anthony you will drive me back to my place and call a doctor for her. As for the rest of you, figure out who did this." I growl. I stalk to my car and get into the back. I have the angel tucked into my arms, not letting her leave my side for one moment. Anthony gets into the drivers side while on the phone with the doctor.
Within the twenty minute drive, she weakly attempts to escape my arms. I just kept quietly murmured into her ears that I was here and I got her. The poor thing must be traumatized. She witnessed her parent's murder and had to hide in a tight confined space to save herself from her home that was engulfed in flames. I will say she is very smart to know that refrigerators are fire proof. I'm glad too, because if she didn't know that very important piece of information, my baby would have died in the most terrible way imaginable.
Once parked in front of my house, I quickly leave the vehicle and take her to my room. "Anthony the doctor better be here in five minutes or tell them they are dead!" I yell at him while I'm climbing up the stairs. Once entering my room, I gently lay her down on my bed. Her eyes are wide and she curls herself up into a ball. "Princess, it's going to be ok. I have a doctor coming now to look at you alright?" It seemed my words went through one ear and out the other for her. Luckily the doctor came in a second later. She asked me to leave the room since she was going to do a full body exam and wanted my angel to have privacy. After a bit of arguing, I waited outside the door.
What felt like hours but was only a few minutes, the doctor came out and gave me a run down on her injuries. The outcomes didn't make me happy. She had a dislocated wrist that was set wrong and needed to be re-setted properly, a broken pinky toe, a few burns on her shoulders and legs, sore throat from the ash and smoke she inhaled, and scratched corneas due to the ash. She would not be able to talk better until a few days from now and probably won't be able to clearly see until a day or two. After leaving a few ointments and medications for her, I was finally left alone with her.
I walk into my room to see she is still curled up into a ball. "Come on Angel, let's get you cleaned up." I go to pick her up again, but she quickly moves away from me. "Okay. Okay. I won't touch you, but at least let me show you the bathroom so you can get showered and changed into new clothes alright sweetie." I have never been so patient with someone my entire life. But this beautiful girl has changed that. She slowly nods her head and follows me to the bathroom. "Just tell me when you're done." I try to say as softly as I can.

Lilly:
I was told my injuries, but I could care less. I don't know where I am, my parents are dead, and I don't know if I can trust the man that is currently behind the bathroom door. I stumble over to the shower and get rid of my sweat and ash covered dress and undergarments. I start to wash myself but the burns I have endured have forced me to fall to the floor of this massive shower. The moment I'm on the ground, reality starts to hit me. HARD. To the point where I am sobbing so hard that my wails sound like a dying frog.
The once locked bathroom door is forced down and the glass shower door is thrown open. I can't see properly, but I know it's the man. Suddenly realizing I'm naked, I curl myself up into a ball to cover myself in some form. "Oh sweetie." I hear him say with pity in his voice.
The shower is turned off and I'm instantly immersed into two strong arms that have wrapped tightly around me. My wails start to grow, causing my body to shake. I am picked up and the little strength I had was gone to push this man away from me. Did he not understand I want to be alone? I don't need help and just need to be with my own thoughts.
"Im not going to look, but I need to dry you off sweetheart." Before I could respond, I'm being rubbed against a dry towel. A few groans of pain escaped my lips due to him rubbing my burns. "Shit! I am so sorry!" Moments later, a large t-shirt is put on me. "I need to put some of the ointment on you okay?" he speaks hesitantly. At this point, I've given up and let him rub on the cool soothing creme on my burns and placed numbing drops in my eyes to help with the itchy, scratching sensation. He was very gentle with everything and kept asking if I was ok and if what he was doing was hurting. I would just shake my head yes or no as a response.
I'm then lifted again and placed lightly back on the bed. I quickly crawl away from him. "Please leave me alone." I horsely whisper. A loud sigh escape him. "I will be back to check on you but try to get some sleep." he mumbles sadly. Once the door was shut softly, was when I allowed my eyes to finally close.
