Harley's P.O.V
"Papa! Papa! Come on let's go! We're going to miss the fireworks!"
"Alright honey!" I replied, "Let's go Harith, you heard Hailey, we're going to miss the fireworks show."
Harith chuckled, "Okay, okay, I heard'cha, I'm commin'" I smiled as I looked at my reflection, it's been 4 years since we've started dating, and a year since we got married. We adopted a beautiful child named Hailey and we were happy and felt whole.
"You ready Harley?" I was briefly interrupted from my thoughts as I turned to look at Harith. I felt that I would melt right there and then but kept my posture and smiled, he looked so handsome— but don't tell him I said that.
He grabbed my arm and went downstairs, I saw Hailey waiting impatiently, crossing her arms and tapping her foot on the wooden floor. Harith smirked "You know, Hailey is definitely more like you, she's very impatient and always pouts like that."
"I AM NOT IMPATIENT!" Hailey and I both said in unison, Harith only laughed and immediately ducked when I tried to smack him in the head.
•**•**•*Time Skip to the fireworks show*•**•**•
"I cant wait for the fireworks! I'm so excited!" Hailey squealed, practically bouncing up and down from the excitement. We were already at the park where we should see the fireworks display, many people were already there, laughing and chatting and saying goodbye to 2019. While Hailey was having her fun, we went to sit down on the nearby bench and chatted for a while. He placed his hand on mine and smiled adoringly at me. I smiled back.
He stared at my my onyx eyes and I stared back at his golden brown ones for, I don't know, seconds or so? I was so lost in his eyes that I didn't realized that his face was so close to mine. My breath hitched upon realising it and I felt blood rush to my cheeks.
"I love you, Harley." He whispered at my ear, and rested his chin on my shoulder. I leaned my head to his and sighed softly.
"I love you more, Harith." I whispered back playfully.
"But you do know that I love you the most, right?" He hummed and replied back with his husky voice
I giggled and just nodded my head, the blush in my cheeks still not fading away. Harith never fails to make my heart jump and feel somersaults in my stomach even though we're already in our 5th year and soon to be 6th. I guess, that's what really happens when you really love someone truly.
I looked away, a grin plastered on my lips as I heard the announcement that the fireworks display will start in less than a minute. I called for Hailey and she ran towards me, engulfing me to a hug and then made grabby hands at Harith so he leaned in and let Hailey hug him too and also wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me closer to him.
I smiled in contentment. This is all that I want. Just this and nothing more. Just my Family.
Hailey then, pulled away, sitting down beside me and continued to just play with her rag doll while Harith and I looked up at the starry sky in comfortable silence.
Then just seconds before midnight, the people began to count down and Hailey and I joined along, with Harith still silent.
I glanced at him and then returned my gaze at the night sky. What is he thinking?
