Only pure and utter silence was heard as the Moniyan Squad sat across each other at the table, their bangs covering their eyes. The tense atmosphere suffocating every guard who dared enter the room.

The silence was interrupted when Silvanna cleared her throat, looking at everyone with a serious face.

Just a few hours ago, they were fighting demons and saving civilians from danger, but was cut short when the creatures slowly slid down into the ground, looking like they were trapped in quicksand, gently getting pulled down to the earth. As the heroes watched in confusion and alert, Harith laid on the ground sweating, hand slowly turning to clenched fists as he screamed in agony.

Immediately, Alucard checked on Harith, ready to see if he was injured and take him to the hospital but alas, he found him, crying softly on the ground, his right arm covering his face while the other, kept on pounding the earth, as if he was taking his anger out on it.

Alucard frowned and tried to relax him but Harith flinched away, and that wasn't all, he moved his arm so Alucard could see his face, in which he gulped.

Harith was wearing a very dangerous look on his face as he was oozing bloodlust and if looks could kill, Alucard will be on the ground now.

"Alucard.. take me, take me to the palace."

And that's how they ended up here, with Silvanna clearing her throat, signalling for Harith to tell them what was wrong, in which her replied,

"I'm,.. I'm going on a.. a mission.. and.. I want to do it....

Alone.."

The squad all looked at each other, in both pity and sadness, but they knew they couldn't let Harith alone.. especially when.. all these things are happening to him.

They all didn't have the guts to tell him but, Fanny took a deep breath, and said, "Look, I-i.. I may not know how you're feeling right now.. a-and I may not share the same ache in your heart but-but... yo-you can't. You can't go be-beca—"

"Because I can't handle it? Is that what you were supposed to say?" Fanny shook her head and tried to say something but Harith cut her off, "Is it because you think I'm weak? Is it because you think that I can't handle a simple heart ache? Is it because you think I'm not good enough?"

They all looked shocked as the sudden outburst, even Granger, who had his eyebrows furrowed in worry at the leonin. "We-Well no.. but—!"

"But. What? Look, I will NOT stand in this shitty village for another fucking minute just wasting my time, while I could have gone and saved Harley already!"

Their eyes widened as they realised what 'mission' he was referring to.

"I am NOT gonna just stand here, doing nothing while Harley might be out there dying already! I- I can't, I just...can't. Afford, to- to lose another family.. so please. I'm fucking begging you. T-to let me.. go out there.. and save him.." he cried, his face filled with tears as they all melted.

Harith was just alone. A kid, a-a teen.. who's lost and can't find his way out.. and they knew that he needed help, that he can't survive seeing another friend.. a-another family die in front of his eyes. They knew what—how.. it felt, so they understood, and looked at one another, nodding their heads, a clear sign of approval and determination as Silvanna smiled.

She slowly rose up from her seat and look at Harith dead in the eyes, showing Harith how much proud they were of him, of how proud they are for not giving up so easily.. because honestly.. it's one of the most first mistakes you could have ever done.. and that was to..

Give up.
