~Kim~
Sitting in the truck beside Jack, she couldn't help but feel she was leaving such a pick part of her behind. Everything she's done to be with Laura, even went far enough to bring a kid into the situation, she shouldn't be turning her back on her.
She even faked her death for this woman.
She leaned back into the seat of the truck, she had no idea where they were headed. A small part inside of her wanted to know, another part, the larger part, didn't care. The heat was on and there was a blanket laid across her lap. She never felt so cozy.
Wait that's a lie.
When he was here, she did..every Christmas night waiting for Santa.
Mother had her fire place roaring. Christmas carols played in the background. They laid on the blanket, eating the ginger bread cookies daddy had made them.
No....Don't do this Kim.
"What do you think Santa brought you, Zack?"
"Don't be stupid, Kimmies. Santa's not real."
Stop it.....
"Notuh! He is real, Zacky!"
Please!!!!
"Nope because I got you a present for Christmas!"She saw him as he got up and ran into the the closet, watched as he come back and handed little Kim a little gift.
"Merry Christmas, Kimmies.""Hey, you alright?"
She looked over at Jack, who stared back at her, worry displayed all over his face.
"Kim, you're crying, what's wrong?"
She wiped her face impatiently and looked at her hands that laid palm-up in her lap.
"I guess."
"Talk to me, that's what I'm hear for."
She looked over at him, ready to snap but stopped herself. He was looking forward, his hair all around his neck and face. He looked tired and worried. His thumb tapping the wheel as he drove, dark trees flashing by behind him.
He was here for her, she wasn't here for him. He was going to make her feel important, not the other way around.
"Jack, I did awful things."
"No one is perfect Kim."
She looked down, chewing on her lip.
"Listen, forget everything that happened Kim. We'll began a new life, start over."
Again."Only this time its me and you, no running from the law. No hiding, no killing. Just a normal life."
She look over at him, seeing him smile at her. She couldn't help but smile back.
He reached over, sliding his hand into hers and laced their fingers together. Lifting her hand, he presses his lips against her the back of her hand. She closed her eyes.
No matter how many times you say to forget, I can never forget what we've done.~Raven~
Her heart was pounding, her blood was burning, her mind spinning. Laura sat in the car, in front if the apartment Kim and her had been living with their daughter. There was nothing there. Nothing but a cellphone.
She called her one last time to confirm. The phone resting on her lap began to vibrate. Its official, its Kim's cellphone.
Where is she? Did someone hurt her? Kill her even?
No, Kim is was too strong for that, she can take care of herself. So where the fuck is she?!
Penelope will be home soon, the school bus will drop her off in front of the building. Then they leave and go to a new place Kim set up. But Kim is missing. And she doesn't have a place.
"Fuck!"
She never thought she'd be so lost without Kim. And Penelope.
She knew she was there the entire time. Laura was so destracted by that, she couldn't even think of a good place to dispose of the body. She just buried her real quick and in a hurry.
Her eyes were stinging now.
Kim, please I need you. I need you so much.
The bus pulled up infront of the building. Laura quickly wiped her tears and sat up. She wasn't ready to face her own daughter, she realized as he saw the young beauty hop down from the bus.
Laura beeped the horn and waved her hand out the window. Penny looked her way and smiled. It was a simple, I'm happy to see you, smile. Nothing like, I know what you did today, type of smile. She skipped over to where Laura sat. Climbing in to the back seat, she looked around.
"Mommy, where's Mom?" She asked innocently.
Laura gripped the stirring wheel.
Not here where she was supposed to be.."I don't know, sweetie probably already at the new house."
"What about uncle Jack?"
.......
Could she be with Jack? She turned to look at Penelope, who twirled her fingers within her curls. She looked so much like Kim.
She looked throw Kim's phone to find his number and pushed talk. No one moved when as the phone ranged.
"Hi Laura."
She sat there for a minute, glued to the seat. Unable to breathe.
"How do you know that's my..."
"She's gone, Laura."
No...."What do you mean she's gone, where-"
"She...died, Laura... She was shot during the kill today..she didnt make it. But she told me to leave a message."
Silence.
"You were always pretty."
Click. She sat there with the phone still to her ear, tears streaming down her face. No Kim. No Kim....
You were always pretty."Mommy?"
Laura turned to look around at Penny. Penny leaned forward and wiped her tears.
"Don't cry mommy, we'll be ok." She said softly.
Laura stared into her blue eyes, so much like Kim. They were soft, but underneath them was the same harshness Kim had developed over the time of become a murderer. She Kim was gone...nonexistent... Dead.
Yet she was staring right at her.
She erupted into fresh tears, pulling Penny into her arms.
Kim was gone.
You were always pretty. She felt Penny's tiny hand rub her back and hug her tightly back. She knew she heard what Jack said, but there was no tears. Laura had to be stronger. For Penny and for herself.
She sat up and wiped her eyes gripping the wheel. She drove off silently into no where. Time to start over fresh, time to go somewhere familiar. Time to go home.
Hey everyone iam sorry it's so short I managed to do this little bit within my class. I'll try to get a longer one in before the night is out.
Love you!!!
