Chapter 10

Yasmine's POV

A few weeks later and today was Brandon's funeral.

It wasn't a big one, but I knew he wouldn't mind. Not many people turned up because we had no close family, but it still felt special.

I asked Jai to come, I knew him and Brandon were close too, so it felt like the right thing to do.

My eyes were filling up with tears as the coffin was being laid into the ground. I noticed Jai's hand was squeezing mine, tighter and tighter.

We were both so emotional. Some of our friends had gone so we were the only ones left. I turned to Jai and put my arms around him. He made me feel safe, like all the troubles in the world were gone. But I still wish I was in Brandon's arms.

"Yasmine?"

"Yeah?" I could nearly get my words out.

"I love you."

I managed to let out a faint smile, before I could say anything back. I just completely broke down. My whole body felt weak and I fell to the ground.
