November, 1944

The two of them were drenched from head to toe and in and out. They didn't expect it to rain so hard so suddenly on a sunny day like this, and why were they together? He despises muggleborn and dislike to be in the same area as them. Apparently they had met each other by chance in the black lake and upon meeting each other, the other begun throwing insults at his partner. The witch couldn't bear his foul temperament and had enough being belittled by him on daily bases that she snapped equally ferocious and vile back at him. Infact she couldn't be more proud that she had the guts to  slapped him hard like a typical muggle when aggravated, which cause him to respond with disgust  and decent amount of shock as he told her off and she commented he could really hit her back like how he really wants to.

For a while they taunt each other with her complaining how petty and old-fashioned thinking he was and he on the other hand, spat back people of her type are so prone to physical outbursts and insensibility. Somewhere along their already heated argument, she begun throwing rocks and pebbles nearby at him in response of his remarks.

He resorted to pacificism until she taunts him that he had became an outstanding wizard who couldn't admit he is a half-blood and one who forgots his muggle raising. Then along with some  cutting words about him in the orphanage and how he was like his father in more ways than looks, that really did him in and he punched her very hard on the shoulder, she wanted to cry at the pain but kept a cool demeanor and spat he could really use some exercise to train his muscles. All the wand waving must have taken out his nature of a man and turn it into a pile of soft wizardry useless limbs. Then again somewhere along their semi-physical arguement, they really made it into a brawl.

Tom inwardly scowls that Vivienne is the only one where he would not mind using fists to make her silent. Fighting is such a muggle thing and he despises all things muggle-related but she, with her prickly attitude deserves a punch or two. Salazar, she started it first and he hates losing especially to her of all people.

She was strangling him (She would never dare with others but if its him, she wouldn't miss the chance to hit him hard) and he was doing whatever he could to get her off him- in the midst of the fight, she thanked her lucky stars that Tom was at least still a somewhat gentlemen for not going too violent with her. Through her appreciation, she also grew nostalgic over their past: they used to be just like that. They would physically fight or mock fight like the other orphanage boys who loves wrestling.

She miss that Tom. The one willing and ready to engage battles with her, laughing and teasing her as they fight and perhaps if one gets a bruise or a cut, one of them will bandage the other up and kiss the wound. But this Tom forgotten he was also a half a muggle, this Tom hated normal humans, resents the society where magic is not used. Eversince he went to Hogwarts, he was never the same and she ached for the him. The first year he went back to the orphanage for Christmas, he told her excitedly about his life and how he hoped she would be like him. Then he searched all the family names in the wizarding world and found her surname and his weren't there, he was persistent and when it was near time  for her to leave for a muggle secondary school, he demanded Dumbledore to make her a pupil in Hogwarts too.

She have to hide her fear that she unlike Tom, really had no skills of magic until Dumbledore gave a dark potion that can grant her temporary magical skills just to appease the young furious Tom. Thank god, she went to school with him because somehow after the effects wore off, she discovered the magic had retained and Dumbledore tells her fondly that perhaps she does have magical abilities but it was just slow to develope unlike Tom's. Then after five blissful months, the nightmare begun.
