2020, A BIG YEAR FOR MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. Not only has Alina Court become a legendary pitcher in the Yankee organization, with the addition of a new team comes the surprise of another woman to the league.
In 2018, the league considered a new addition. For months the idea was pushed to the side, brushed off, but in late December of 2018, the decision was made and a new team was going to be added. A month of talking about location, names, and a hiring process, it came to a close on February 20th of 2019 and the construction of the new stadium began.
At first, fans were only given hints and clues to anything involving the new addition, but now everyone is excited to meet the Portland Indies. The new stadium is located in Portland, Oregon, with the official name Vita Stadium, fans are excited to see the final product on Opening Day, especially with the release of the Indies starting roster which included Octavia Brewer, a twenty year old Harvard graduate, who will be the starting catcher for the Indies.
With Opening Day quickly approaching, we are all excited to welcome Octavia as well as the rest of the new team to the league!
