Chapter Fifteen: The Truth
Taehyung debilitatedly ran towards the park that was not far from the house. He had to be sure that what he suspected wasn't true, he needed to be sure this it was only his imagination for such ridulous assumption.
"You were best friends, you both had this weird fascination with burning dandelions. I never quite understood it but you would just tell me it helped make the world around you better, more clearer and less nightmarish."
'No! What Jimin said isn't true!! It's all lies!!'
A single teardrop trickles, followed by another and another until both cheeks were smeared with the translucent glistening of agonising grief.
He couldn't accept that the possibility could potentially exist.
'Yoongi wouldn't do this to me? He wouldn't lie like this?'
His exhausted pants mixed with the battering of his footsteps colliding against the pavement was all that he could hear alongside his palpitating heart.
He was closing in on the park, wondering if the person he was looking for might even still be there.
Taehyung raced down the walkway, pasting the group of trees and the large lake like always.
However, this time it almost had him halt when glancing at it.
Yelling. Wet. Crying. Rain. Splash. Sirens.
He couldn't stop now.
Blue. Blood. Crying. Rain. Yelling.
He had to keep going.
Cold. Blood. Sirens.
'I have to be sure its not true!'
Taehyung was close now, only a fraction of a minute away from their usual meet up place.
'He wouldn't be there, all this is fake. Its not real!'
When his eyes land on the spot underneath the large oak tree, he was surprised by what he found.
Nothing.
Absolutely, nothing.
He exhales.
A small part of him felt relieved like what he thought wasn't actually real.
'Yoongi couldn't be, could he?'
And then the undeniable anxiety seeps back in.
Whether Yoongi was here or not didn't change the fact he would sooner or later have to speak with the other upon his discovery.
"Taehyung?" Spoke a gentle voice from behind.
Taehyung stiffens, taking in his current surroundings as he notices how dark it was getting, the sun was almost completely gone and there was no one around now.
He was certain he knew that voice, yet, he didn't have the courage to turn around.
"Tell me..." he feebly murmurs, his hands now in tight fists at his sides while his shoulders tremble aggressively.
"Tell me its not true."
Awaiting the response took longer than was necessary, only making Taehyung all the more sure that everything he thought isn't as it seems.
"Its true, isn't it?" He blubbers, no longer able to hold in his tears.
He felt incredibly stupid for not noticing sooner.
But then again, was it really obvious.
For Taehyung was able to speak and touch the other like he was real.
"All this time," Taehyung cries out harshly, his voice shaking uncontrollably.
"All this time, I thought you were real!"
Silence.
The chilling atmosphere did nothing for Taehyung's nerves.
He was remembering everything now.
At first, his memories were coming back in misshaped pieces but now he could see the clear picture.
"You did it, didn't you?" He quietly mumbles through his choked sobs.
"You died, I saw you. I saw what you did."
"Is that the whole truth, Taehyung?"
Taehyung flinches at the other's words before spinning on his heels so that he can gawk at him with wide eyes.
"M-meaning?" He stutters, afraid to know.
Yoongi smirks, though it wasn't like usual. This one was almost calculous, very menacing in its appearance.
"Remember the past, its there, you just have to dig deep enough..."
