One day, He repairs the broken fence, after he milks the cows, and collects the chicken eggs.

Heather hears a scream from outside as she removes the biscuits from the oven. She turns off the stove and runs outside immediately. She was in such a hurry she left her scarf inside. She does have a handkerchief in her coat pocket though.

Heather enters the barn unsure what awaits her on the other side of the pigpen. She gasps when she sees him passed out on the ground near the pigpen. She looks closer and sees blood as it gushes from his hand.

"What happened?  Here, let me see!" Heather says.  She looks at the wound despite his protests and cries.

"It is rather deep cut there you know,"  Heather remarks. She reprimands him for not seeking her help sooner.  She uses a set of pliers to remove the piece of barbered wire from his hand. She cleans the wound, pours idoine on it, adds some peroxide, and wraps it up tightly in her handkerchief. She does not care if it ruins the piece of cloth.  She pulls out a silk napkin from her other pocket and wraps it around the handkerchief.

"Why you silly boy, how could you think I would not care?" She asks.

He says nothing, but groans instead from the pain.

"I do care, you are my best friend,"  Heather explains.

"Please, do not ever scare me like that again," She says with tears in her eyes.
