Alpha or Wolf?

Hi, this is gonna be my new book. And my first, please comment on what you think of it.

Chapter 1

The grass was wet underneath my paws as I ran. I don't know where I was going, but all I knew was I was following the irresistible pull and scent. Suddenly the woods cleared and I was on a cliff edge. There was another wolf on the edge of the rock face, I stopped. The wolf turned and faced me. There was a familiarity in it's eyes, but before I could think any more, the wolf ran off. I wanted to follow it, but knew that was stupid. Who was it?

Shriiiing shriiiing.

I woke up with sore feet and hands.That was one thing I hated with the wolf dreamworld. That whatever injury I acquired, it followed me into the real world. The smell of cooking bacon wafted into my nose, and i remembered what day it was today. March 17th. My 16th birthday!! I'll shift for the first time tonight. And I'll find my mate. I really hope it's Alpha Tom. He hasn't found his mate yet, and I feel like we have something, even though he only knows me as a pack member and science lab partner. Oh well, I'll find out tonight.

I pulled a brush through my long chestnut hair, the early spring sun shining onto a few strands, a tied it up in a messy bun. I then pulled on some skinny jeans, a vest top and my new Abercrombie and Fitch checkered shirt, but left it undone. I picked my favourite converse and walked downstairs.

As soon as I walked in, my parents broke into the first line of 'Happy Birthday.'

"how long have you been waiting to start that?" I asked my parents once they'd stopped.

"a while." dad replied.

"thanks" I said.

"open your presents! I can't wait to see your face when you open mine!!" my over excitable mum said, and grabbed my shoulders pushing me to the kitchen island, where there was a giant pile of wrapped presents. Oh, I love birthdays!!!
