Alpha or Wolf?

Chapter 3

After five hours of shopping I felt ready to fall asleep, with Josie and Ellie bugging me to buy a new dress all day, and Rhiannon having to buy almost everything she saw. But as soon as I stepped in the taxi on the way to the club, I felt revitalised. I was ready to party and find my mate.

We were off to the only wolf club in town, 'The Cave.' With a club on the top floor for humans and wolves and a floor beneath just for wolves it was a great place for a party. the adjoining room was a cage, where you can book a wolf fight, or just have a safe first transformation. That's why we're going tonight.

Rhiannon, my oldest bezzie, obviously caught onto my nervousness.

'Hey, Hannah, don't worry, as long as your mate's there to help, you'll be fine. It won't hurt.' Always the voice of reason, Rhiannon answered my unvoiced worries. I smiled great fully at her. The taxi driver turned round.

'Shall I drop you off at the front, or round the back?' I looked out the window and saws was surprised when I saw we were already here. I looked at my friends, who were still looking out the window with awe, and turned back to the driver.

'Here's just fine thanks.' I placed a twenty pound note in his hand and went to leave the taxi.

'Good luck' the driver said, and I turned to look at him quizzically, he showed my his wolf canines, and I understood. He was from the pack. I smiled at him gratefully and left with my friends. I shut the door and turned to my friends,

'Ready? Let's go.' we all tottered to the club entrance, and the bouncer who could smell what we were lead us to the front of the queue teeming with humans, and let us through.

'Thanks.' Rhiannon said to him.

Inside the music was thrumming, the walls vibrating with the bass, and as we made our way downstairs the noise just got louder. I checked my watch. 7:34. 4 hours and 26 minutes. Boy was I going to have fun!

I made my way to the bar, with the rest of my friends behind me. I ordered the first round of shots. Nothing like a bit of alcohol to give you a boost. We downed the first round, and soon followed it with three more. I could fee the alcohol sloshing through me, taking its toll. Then I heard the intro if my favourite song of the moment, Don't You Worry Child, by Swedish House Mafia and screamed, we had to get up to dance. I threw my arms above my head and let myself go. The bass was pounding the floor and I felt the heat radiate off other dancers. I was sweaty, but I kept going.

Suddenly, the music stopped, and Alpha Tom took to the stage. I heard someone boo, and realised it was me. Maybe I've had a bit too much to drink...

'Hello. Sorry for interrupting that track, but it's coming up quarter to midnight, and Hannah will transform soon, so will all males make sure you meet Hannah before ten to, thank you.' he said, and stepped off. A couple of people form the pack came up to me, but none of them lit a spark in me. I headed over to the Alpha, and looked him right in the eye. I felt nothing. Well, nothing apart from disappointment.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my back. I screamed out in pain. I felt Aloha Tom hold me, but for some reason, I let out an inhuman snarl and pushed him off. I felt my wolf gaining control, and in the distance I could hear people screaming. Tom shouted above everyone else,

'Why is this happening? It's only seven minutes to midnight, it's early. Get her in the room, somebody!!!'

??? POV

I only managed to get to the club in time when I heard the ear splitting scream of Hannah ring out, and I heard all the pain in it. It brought back many memories of changing myself. I'm male so I could handle it, but Hannah, she's just a she-wolf, she won't last. I quickly hurried down the stairs. Immediately the smell of fear and pain hit me and I saw Hannah in the middle of a circle of wolves. Her back was jutting out in angular places. I looked into her beautiful eyes and saw pain and terror in them. Suddenly someone went to take a hold of her, but I felt myself growl and push them away. This was weird. I looked in her eyes and only one word screamed out at me

Mate.
