Chapter 5

Sorry for the wait

All through the weekend I have stayed in my bed. I didn't even come out for Rhiannon, my mum brought food up and all I had to do was go to my en suite for the toilet. But now it's Monday and there is no way I can hide.

I get dressed in my uniform and make my way downstairs.

My parents smile compassionately at me but I don't want their pity.

It's only a 10 minute journey to school so I decide to walk.

As I walk to the end of my street I see Alpha Tom there. I walk faster to catch up with him, he lives on the biggest house in this estate as it is all owned by he and his father.

"Hey," I say a little out of breath, "Wait up." and I smile.

"Hey Han. You alright?" he replied and I gave him my most convincing smile. Of course I wasn't ok, I was heartbroken.

"Yeah,yeah. Look," I started, getting straight to the point, "You wanna meet up after school?'

Tom looks surprised for a second but then he quickly replaces it with an easy smile. "Yeah, sure" he replies, "Shakeaholic?" I was glad he chose one of the best milkshake places on earth. It was like heaven.

"At monument, yeah." see you then.

I hear a scuffling behind me and I see a familiar flash of brown hair dash down the alleyway. Woops.

Should I cancel? Nah! Just because I have a mate doesn't mean I have to behave and act like I'm besotted, because, quite frankly, I'm not.

"Come on, Alpha." j say turning back to face Tom, "We'll be late."

As I arrived at school, my eyes landed on Harry, with his friend, Nick. Harry looked quite upset and when he looked at me I saw a flash of betrayal, the. I saw a cocky smile that I'be never seen on him before, tat made him look incredibly handsome. I was taken aback. Then I mentally face palmed. Harry? Handsome? Yukk!!

Before I could get any more disturbing thoughts, I turned around and left, going toward my form room to have registration.

I only saw Harry another two times that day and both times he looked at me a foreign smirk would take over his face. Soon enough the day passed and I was soon waiting for the Metro on the platform.

"The next train on platform one is for south shields." I heard the woman say in her monotonous drone of a voice.

I hopped on board and soon found a free seat on the carriage. Just my luck that Harry's friend Nick would be sat opposite me. He tried to strike up conversation three times, and give him his due he didn't give up until I turned to him and asked him if he wanted anything. I think he got the message then. He's a nice guy, but I didn't want any more reminders if what I was going to do.

I saw Tom waiting for me at the café with two milkshakes, he had my favourite shake and his and we left. We walked over to the park where all the goths and misfits sit. We went over to a bench and sat down. And lapsed into an awkward science.

"So..." Tom tried to make "Harry huh?" a wave of guilt washed over me,

"Let's not talk about that." I replied and looked coyly at Tom from beneath my eyelashes.

"Oh ok." he looked around, "You want to go somewhere more... private?"

I smiled at him and he grabbed my hand and led me to the toilet.
