It took her a while to realise that they were waiting for her to say something but her mind had gone blank and she was too busy trying not to gape.

Klondike.

What the actual fudge was going on in her life?

Her father was dead and apparently a high member of the TE who meddled in things that haven't been considered for a hundred and fifty years, her brother wasn't a Slain and would be dead by his fifteenth birthday if anybody found out ( a slight exaggeration but you can never be too careful) and now the most powerful man in South was sending her on a suicide mission oh and there was an assassination plot in there somewhere. Was being born into an unclassified group who weren't considered human and living in terrible conditions and having to hide every time she saw another human not enough?

She looked up into Klondike's eye and tried not to let her anger and frustration show. She would never win an argument with him but she might delay it enough and make sure John wasn't found out because John was going to be dragged into it.

"Nice to meet you, I'm glad to hear the rumours that you have a bright pink mohican aren't true." for some reason Klondike wasn't impressed neither, seemingly, was Blackwell.

"Bonnie." he groaned and facepalmed when she gave him a confused look. "Do you know why you are here?" HE finally managed to ask after a minute of silence.

"Yeah, you want me to leave South, something nobody's ever done before, to do something that I'm sure is a death wish by A-winter." She glared and tried to cover up her slip, she wasn't supposed to know about the August deadline, klondike looked at her for a second.

"Are you aware that Rowel has a plan to destroy South that he'll put forward next September at the daily governmental meeting so that in two years time we probably wouldn't be here unless we send somebody out now to stop him?" Bonnie's eyes automatically flicked to the Lightning Storm file. That information would have made a better front page than her.

"No Sir." She replied.

"Are you going to leave now?"

"To do what?" she asked and Blackwell sighed.

"You are too much like your father always questioning everything." Bonnie tried not to look too offended by that, she was very proud of being the most curious one in the family and she had no memories of her father even questioning anything. "To stop him of course, give him something from us to stop him so that we can all see two springs."

"We'll all die either way because that's about three suicide mission's rolled into one. I'll die before I leave, I'll die if I go anywhere near Rowel and I'll die as soon as somebody realises that I'm Slain which will probably be somewhere in between and then everybody here will die because that won't change anybody's mind." Bonnie finished and released that Klondike had a spark in his eyes that she didn't like.

"Good point. Why don't you go back to class so we can discuss it can see if the plan can be tweaked or have to be scrapped." He acknowledged and threw Bonnie off completely she'd been expecting to have to battle for her life not be dismissed.

"Yes Sir." She responded and he looked at Blackwell.

"Why don't you take our young friend down." He nodded.

"My pleasure." Blackwell stalked over to the door and held it open for her, she glanced at Klondike who was immersed into the Lightning Storm file before following Blackwell in a daze. Nobody knew exactly who Klondike was, those who did were either loyal followers very high up or dead, technically missing but anybody missing in South was probably dead. She followed Blackwell to the bottom of the stairs they had come down and with her eyes adjusted to the darkness noticed at the foot of the stairs was a door hidden in the shadows that Blackwell was opening.
