Will glanced at his watch. Five minutes till midnight, which meant five minutes till his and Nico's third New Year's together, which meant they had been together for three and a half years. It made Will jittery thinking about all the time that had passed, but as he looked up and down the beach which was packed with people on blankets and in beach chairs, Will knew that the year that would come in literally less than five minutes would be a good one. He wrapped one arm around his boyfriend as the dozens of demigods around them started counting down. As they reached the number one and the synchronized fireworks which the Hephaestus kids had worked for weeks on lit up the sky, he kissed his boyfriend. "Happy New Year, my love," Will whispered for what he knew would not be the last time.
